I’ve visited Old Style Deli multiple times. This little deli style cafe/Sandwich Shop is a great little establishment right downtown Elkhart. The food is all made fresh to order. They’re friendly, the environment is friendly, a all around very community oriented restaurant.

I was doing doordash and the enviroment looked perfect, everyone was really friendly and they got the food out quickly. After I decided to go back, it was exactly like I imagined. Really good service, food was amazing and there was very little wait time.

The sandwiches are absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the “Not your mother’s grilled cheese” I took one bite and my phone immediately rang, it was my mother knowing I have having foreign grilled cheese. Worried about causing a family rift I immediately lied and said “Nothing!” The tone of sadness in her voice conveyed the fact that she knew she had been bested and that the grilled cheese game was never going to be the same for her first born child. I then brought her the other half of my grilled cheese, one bite in her phone rang and it was her mom, the circle of grilled cheese continued.

Food was good but the portions were very small and the price was too high. Our sandwich hardly had any meat on it and were changed 11 dollars for it. The little bag of chips that came with it was laughable and ridiculous.

Cool art inside! The food is pretty good, though since it’s just sandwiches they seem like stuff you can easily cook at home. The employees are nice. Great lunchtime place! It’s just personally not for me. Maybe I’ll give it another go sometime, my opinion may change.

Some restaurants are bad, some are ok, some are good, some are great, and some are legendary. Old Style Deli is legendary. The bacon is made crispy like it should be, not the raw stuff that passes for “cooked” today. The meats are quality, the toppings fresh, and the sandwiches don’t hold back on them. Massive menu, everything priced reasonably, fast service.

Always a great spot to enjoy a simple breakfast downtown Elkhart! Gotta love the humor in the menu! Today I had the Bow Chicka Brown Cow sandwich ! Hit the spot! Not to mention you have to try one of the delicious treats! Today I had the coffee cake/ carrot cake treat! Let’s not forget the great staff they have! That’s got to be a huge plus these days right!?
