Awesome experience. They had a nice side lot where we could fit our truck and trailer. The noisy road disappears when you walk inside. The view of the river is awesome. The staff is so welcoming and clearly it’s quickly become a local hot spot. It was nice to hear chatter about local schools and sports. I figured we were stopping at a little sandwich joint but the flavors in the food made it obvious this place puts some real thought into their menu and each option. The team was actively working on their menu, marketing, all while still giving great service. Google didn’t highlight this place as much as it should be. Definitely a local gem. This was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Waitress/bartender was really good. Personable and attentive. The food arrived quickly and was hot but down hill after that. I ordered the cheese steak which was the poorest cheese steak I have ever had. The peppers, some of which were grilled and some on which were close to raw, were, by volume, at least 3 times of the amount of meat. The meat was not shaved steak it almost seemed like it was ground beef only with a very strange grind. All in all it was not dry and had a reasonable taste. They need to cook the peppers evenly, add onion, ( I ordered with onion but none was readily apparent), triple the amount of meat, reduce the amount of peppers by two thirds and call it something else because it certainly in not a cheese steak. I won’t be rushing back, probably ever.

We weren’t too sure when we pulled into the parking lot, but this place is a real hidden gem. What a find! Food and service was excellent. The place was hopping and the waitress was alone, but she was very attentive and was so pleasant. Make it a destination or stop by when you are in the area. It will be worth it.

I was working a job here in Fairfield for the last 3 months. Being from New York City I can sometimes be over critical. This little local spot is hands down one of the friendliest and accepting places I have ever been. The food is amazing and I tried almost everything on the menu. The bartenders are Marian and Savannah and they make you feel like family and it is actually a family type environment. If you visit once they remember you and your name. Great selection on beverages. Even if you arent going to Fairfield you should stop by this awesome little Tavern on the River and just enjoy the people and the atmosphere. You will definetly add it to your favs and absolutely make it a place that you would go out of your way to enjoy. I will be back here everytime I am in Maine.
