We were looking for a place to relax before leaving San Diego for home. We found this the Salt and Whiskey. Awesome! A small space, but beautifully packed with a vast selection of drinks. I had my favorite neat. My wife had a specialty drink off their menu. Our daughter had her favorite Scotch from behind the glass wall o’ awesome! Next time I’m in the Gaslamp district, I’m revisiting this incredible place.

We stayed at the Horton so naturally when it was raining outside we stayed in and wow I’m so glad we did. The wood work and trim and paintings on the walls are exquisite. The service was good and she was happy and friendly. The humans and warm pita bread made you warm and cozy inside. Seasoned perfectly. The Old Fashioned and whiskey sour were perfect. The Caesar salad was fresh and the tenderloin was Spectacular! So tender and juicy with a Demi glaze that was a perfect complement to the meat. Finished with a brandy and dancing. You never know when a good time will turn into a memorable night. Thank you to the chef the server and the entertainer. C

This place was remarkable, the intricate woodwork, exquisite trim, and captivating paintings adorning the walls were truly breathtaking. The service we received was commendable, as our server was not only happy but also friendly. The presence of other guests and the comforting warmth of the pita bread created a cozy atmosphere that enveloped us. The seasoning of the food was impeccable, and both the Old Fashioned and whiskey sour drinks were perfectly crafted. The Caesar salad was refreshingly crisp, and the tenderloin exceeded all expectations, boasting remarkable tenderness and juiciness, complemented by a flawless Demi glaze. Our evening concluded with a brandy and some delightful dancing, turning an ordinary good time into an unforgettable night. My heartfelt thanks go to the chef, server, and entertainer for making it all possible.

Just went for one but had an espresso’s martini. They put baileys in it to make it a little creamy and tastes awesome.

The drinks at Salt & Whiskey was very inventive and delicious. But, what made the place special were Mick and Tyler. They understand hospitality and good customer service. A bar can be a quiet, solitary place. Or it can be fun and lively. The two of them were very personable and worked well together. They made everyone feel welcome.

Great atmosphere, service, drinks and food at Salt and Whiskey! The seasonal drinks were aromatic, well-balanced and strong . For food, tried the pimento dip and the fresh catch of the day (halibut) which were both delicious! Can’t wait to get back to San Diego for another fun and relaxing meal here!
