If I could give 10 stars I would! This place is fabulous! Last weekend, we were passing thru on our way back to the Dallas area (from a funeral in Jasper Texas) and we were looking for some good barbecue. Mind you… we know nothing of Center Texas… but we came up on this place and made a swift turn in… Walking up to the door we noticed they were closing at 3:00 (it was about 2:50) but we decided to just go in and fully expecting we were going to get some awful ‘leftovers’. NOT the case! The nice lady told us…we just caught her in the process of putting things up. She didn’t hesitate in bringing that delicious brisket back out. When I saw that brisket….Oh my! Everything was great! They treated us like they were still going to be open for hours…knowing fully well they were about to close. The brisket, ribs, sausage, potato salad…DELICIOUS!. AND the prices are sooo good. Barbecue prices around Dallas are highway robbery. At Chaps you get your money’s worth plus some! Our only regret is that we didn’t get some of those beans she put the scraps of brisket and sausage in! One of the ladies that served us said she comes to Dallas as she has a friend (I believe) that is fighting cancer…prayers for healing. I sure wish she would bring some of that barbecue this way. I don’t have either of the ladies names… but Thank you! We have been talking about how much we enjoyed the food every since 🙂 Can’t wait to be back that way to get some more…

Chaps BBQ catered my moms life celebration and everyone loved it!! The owners are gracious, great people & take pride in the quality of their work. Chaps provided more food than we requested & all of it was incredible. The Texas Twinkies are over the top! I highly recommend this bbq whether for one person or for an event! Thanks, Chaps! Can’t wait to eat some more of your bbq!!

I’m from out of town and decided to try it. Upon entering the staff pointed out to me that I wasn’t from their town…rude. Food was below average but I should have walked out since I was the only customer there during lunch hours. The whole experience was weird and no, I will not be back.
