This is a chic little sushi spot in the heart of Palm Springs. The prices are a bit steep but the food seemed to be of high quality and that’s definitely what you want when having sushi! We tried the chicken gyoza, spider roll, California roll, and various sushi. Everything was very good and the service was great. The staff were friendly, and very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. This is a great date night spot. It’s a small restaurant, but they also have a nice outdoor seating area.

Had the best sushi I’ve ever had a few months ago at Sandfish Sushi & Whiskey. Such a special spot with gorgeous decor and incredible service. Only downside is we were sat quite close to the door and it is a very busy place, with tons of people coming and going! The restaurant itself is small but quaint. Would definitely recommend- bring your appetite !!

Sorry to say that Sandfish was a big disappointment. The food was just mediocre; and for the quality, severely overpriced. We ordered Shishito Peppers, Spicy Edamame, Yellowtail Sashimi for starters and Albacore Tataki, The Scandinavia, The Lollipop, The Venue and The Experiment for mains. The Spicy Edamame (although not spicy AT ALL) was probably the best part of our meal. The Shishito Peppers were also good, but didn’t have the sweet and spicy taste that was described; they seemed to simply be salted and were definitely spicy so be careful if you can’t handle spice. The biggest disappointment was the Yellowtail which tasted fishy. We eat sushi a lot and always order yellowtail sashimi or carpaccio and never have we been served yellowtail that was fishy tasting until our visit to Sandfish. The Albacore Tataki was okay but it too had a bit of a fishy taste and was not as buttery as albacore usually is when I order it elsewhere. The rolls were all decent but we’ve had much better rolls other places for much less than the price Sandfish charges. The Experiment was probably the best roll we had as it had a crisp and fresh taste; but again, it was nothing special. The cocktail I ordered was delicious but I can’t remember what it was called. We are local to Palm Springs and will not be going back to Sandfish as there are other places in PS, and the surrounding desert cities, that have much better sushi. Just to be clear, it is not the price of the menu items that will keep us from returning. For us, when the bill comes and food was excellent we’re not concerned about the price we’re paying. However, when the food is unimpressive and the bill is comparable to high end restaurants, where you expect an excellent meal, it leaves you feeling a bit cheated.

What a fantastic evening!! Gorgeous space and decor, perfect vibe. My husband and I sat at the bar and loved our first experience here, will definitely be back. Where to start..?…..drinks… Wow Wow Wow! The bartender Dylan was beyond phenomenal and talented in creating some original cocktails for us . I asked for smokey and got THE MOST DELICIOUS cocktail in my life! He was chatty, gracious, and literally a MASTER of the drink creation ! RUN don’t walk here folks! The food….BEST BEST California Roll EvaAAAHH! We live in sushi-land on the Canadian West Coast but here we are finding the best roll in the middle of the desert, go figure! A California Roll is such a basic roll it can’t be messed up but in order to elevate it to stratospheric yumminess it requires incredibly good ingredients and mastery of hand. This NAILED IT. Our evening was not cheap but who cares!….Worth every penny for incredible sushi, mind blowing cocktails and PERFECT customer service from Dylan. Thanks Sandfish! ❤️
