It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Surprisingly busy considering that it is located in the small town of Republic. The drive thru line was full of cars, but the lobby’s wait was under 10 minutes. The cashier was energetic which was refreshing for a fast-food joint. The spicy chicken sandwich and other foods I ordered came out hot. I would recommend coming here during off hours if you don’t want to be disappointed.

Asked for Mayo, no mustard, no onion, no pickle. They even put stickers on it… It had pickles and onions. The sprite we were given was brown, asked for a new one and the lid blew off, she gave us a new one with no lid or straw. The other burger we wanted was a bacon burger, no bacon on it. The only one that was right was the plain burger for my child. The wait was long, she kept messing up the order while we gave it to her and we watched her get Dr Pepper in all of the sodas she was getting ready. Messy, incorrect orders and just overall bad experience. For as long as you’ve been open and as long as the lines are we thought this would be a good quick meal. They definitely need to get it together and do better. $40 for 3 adults and child was wayyyy too much for this awful of service.

This place is hoppin! Yall have to try the Dr Pepper shake. It is so good! The fries are sort of like McDonald’s and yet crispier. There burgers are large in diameter like Sonic and they are not selfish with the toppings. Our meal was 36.00. We ordered a #1 #2 a fish sammich and two small dr pepper shakes. Our fries had no salt, my burger no cheese with lite diced onions. The staff is so helpful and plentiful. We will go back. They are 24hrs. There are menu items we want to try. There is a Buffalo chicken sammich, it looks good. They have a 3 chicken tender basket for light eaters. A patty melt, and a complete breakfast menu. We were able to witness some of the managment staff being courteous to an employee who had to go home. It was nice. We will be back.

Much excitement about this place when we moved to Republic a month ago. It was new and causing traffic jams on the 60. We finally visited this past week and it is a solid fast food burger joint. Good service and moderately clean (it was the lunch rush). Our food arrived quickly and it was pretty good.

Only did the drive thru for Banana Pudding Shakes. Service was uncharacteristically slow due to car in front of us trying to use multiple coupons. Shakes were great!

The service was amazing, the food was delicious and hot like you would expect from a Whataburger. The store was new and clean. My only complaint was the the sweet tea was nowhere near Whataburger Sweet. Overall was a great experience! Great to have a place in town open 24 hours.
