Going to the NYC Dosa man has been on my top things to do list for some time now. He has an amazing story and his food is great too.

I was in line for over an hour around 1:30PM for what seemed to only be around 15 people ahead of me. Lots of people were ordering for groups so the line was misleading. The owner was very accommodating to people jumping the line with drink and appetizer orders which made the line go even slower. The special pondicherry (spicy) was good and well worth the 10 bucks.

Enjoyed the experience at the dosa cart. Thirukumar is extremely humble and friendly. We had the pondicherry dosa, Utappa and samosas. Each dish was extremely delicious and cooked to perfection. The one hour in line was absolutely worth it. No complaints about the wait.

I’ve had thousands of dosas in my life and the Masala Dosa here was by far one of the best I’ve had. Not too crispy, not too soft, and the sauces were perfect; definitely worth the hype! The wait was only 30 minutes when I went (around 1pm on a Wednesday) and I got to enjoy a great lunch in a beautiful park. I would absolutely recommend to anyone traveling to Manhattan

Lines were long, food is great. Great Experience owner friendly and kind quick making dosas. In the park outside near benches so you can walk around or sit and eat.

NY dosas is really really good. We got to try all types of dosa and the samosas. The sambal which they use adds more flavour Thiru Kumar Sir is an real inspiration. He is active and energetic. It was our pleasure to meet him and Taste his delicious dosas which he made it by himself. I thought he would have appointed some assistant but to my surprise it was him who makes those delicious dosas!! Respect to him!!

This place is always on our NYC to do list. Pondicherry Special Dosa and Samosas are must try!! I would recommend to check Instagram page (NY Dosas) before visiting, for any updates on working hours. Also, try to get in there early to avoid long lines.

Do it once for the novelty, and temper your expectations. It is fresh but quite dry….an adequate $9 dosa full of potato. I got in line at 12:00 on a Friday and was eating by 1:50.
