Been coming here for years. This placed has been here since 1957. There’s only one. Real good food. On today’s visit, the place was clean as always. The bathroom was very clean. Service is always great. Excellent menu full of great choices. They even have food to go by the pound. Great drinks. Ice tea is really good. If you are visiting the Homestead area or headed down to The Keys, you should make it a point to stop by.

Shiver’s has been a local go to for BBQ since the 1950’s. I tried their pork trio – a mouth-watering array of pulled pork, baby backs, and spare ribs. Oh boy, those spare ribs were just off the charts, hands down my favorite. They’ve got a number of sauces, but if you ask me, the pepper sauce and the vinegar sauce really hit the spot – you’ve gotta try them. And the sides? So many to choose from, but do yourself a favor and go with the corn bread soufflé. It’s so decadently good, it’s almost dessert. Trust me, it’s a real treat.

Went for a late lunch. Since we got there on a Saturday around 3pm, they sat us pretty quickly. No wait. Food was pretty good. For appetizer we had the Fried Green Tomatoes which were really good. We also had the burnt Ends which were absolutely delicious.. For the main dishes one of kids had the Shiver Burger with hush puppies and cornbread souffle. The burger was ok, my daughter compared it to Burger King. The hush puppies were awesome and so was the cornbread souffle. My other kid had the Fried Mac and cheese which she really liked. My wife and I shared the Ribs and Brisket combo with cornbread souffle, green beans and collard greens. Well, the ribs were good but kinda dry. Definitely drench them in BBQ sauce so they go down easier. The brisket was not that great

Shivers was a great place to fill the bellies after a long day of traipsing around the Everglades. I had the rib trio with beef, babyback, and spare pork ribs. My sweetie had the chicken and brisket combo. Both platters came with 2 sides. The collard greens were the best I have had- nice and tangy. The meats were delicious, but my one critique is that they weren’t very warm when served. We had plenty to eat and leftovers to take home. The atmosphere is fun with long tables that you share with neighboring diners. The beer was cold and the service was good. The log cabin style building had lots of patina and neat old decor.

Best BBQ, imo, in south Florida. Had the andoulle sausage for an appetizer and the 1/4 chicken and ribs for my entree. All were cooked perfectly and full of smokey goodness. Their table mustard based sauce is pure goodness. Their sides are divine and I strongly recommend their hash brown casserole. Yummy yummy. I live half an hour away, but I happily make the drive when I’m craving BBQ.

This is the best BBQ in Miami (in my humble opinion). Whenever we’re in the area we can’t pass this place up. The wait is a bit long (but then again when a restaurant is full it’s a good sign you’re going to get some good food). We arrived on a Saturday at 2:00 pm so it’s prime time lunch rush. The servers are always nice and they hustle for you. It’s community seating but that’s never an issue. We love the food here. The two main things I can never pass up is the cornbread soufflé and the pulled pork. To start off we got the corn on the cob and it never disappoints. The lunch meal we shared was the baby back ribs and pulled pork combo. The portions are decent. Our sides were fries and cornbread soufflé. All in all the food and service is great. It’s moderately priced. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants some BBQ in the 305.

I only tried the burnt ends at lunch so I can’t content on the bbq fully. Burnt ends were good, some were all fat but still good flavor. Hashbrown and coleslaw were excellent . I would go back to try the brisket for dinner

Great BBQ, Great Service. Not my first time not my last. I love their chicken, green beans, black eyes peas, slaw. But I always have room for some baby rib. If you are around don’t hesitate to stop and enjoy this traditional BBQ joint on the Heath of South Florida.
