Purgys is the on site restaurant at the purgatory resort. We were there in the summer and had bought the activity pass. We stopped halfway through the day for lunch. The main building was closed but it wasn’t super clear so people kept trying to go inside. People were also unsure how to order.

Waited 1.5 hours for food. Never told us they were out of stuff we ordered. Menu online totally different than actual menu.

Meh. The ‘house made chips’ they sling on all the meals are not awesome. Just serve fries instead of up charging $4 for them.

Dinner and we were one of two tables. The service was incredibly slow. Then the steak was overcooked. I might come back for lunch if I’m on the slopes. But never again for dinner.

Extremely overpriced food that is worse than what you can get from the gas station down the road. You can only order online after it takes 30 minutes to load a single page of the menu.

Purge’s makes you order on a app that doesn’t work. Event was going on, might be problem. But no server help they are to busy walking around yelling people’s name trying to deliver food. I watched frustrated employees return orders to the kitchen because people couldn’t hear them in the crowd. To order at the bar was an hour plus.

Food doesn’t quite meet the minimum expectation.

Nice atmosphere, food was good, but there was only one server for the whole restaurant! Days that they are closed change every year so check ahead! Not bad pricing for some entrees and salads, but a “lava cake” that was the size of an air hockey puck for $ 9? Ridiculous, even for ski resort pricing! It’s hard to find out what’s on their menu online because it changes constantly.

Went here for dinner two days ago and had the elk sliders which were really good. HOWEVER the server decided to tip herself $2 on my purchase done through my credit card. My receipt clearly says $0.00 tip (because I tipped her in cash) but somehow they still managed to charge me $2 extra dollars. Great food but shady servers

The food here was great. The beer selection, well, just okay. It’s the hipster era, and even those of us born in the 1970s still want a good IPA (and a server who knows that Fat Tire and Alaskan Amber are not IPAs). We have four breweries in town that all make a good one, just have them in cans if not on draft. The biggest downside to this restaurant is that you can’t sit outside. I mean, we were the only people there, no one else but us and the staff, and I asked if our family of five could sit outside. I was told we couldn’t, because there wasn’t table service out there. It’s July. That means we’re 45 minutes away from this entire resort and surrounding neighborhood being covered in snow again. Why not let folks enjoy the summertime? It’s not like the walk is that distant for a server, and especially when nobody else is even in the restaurant. I also noticed that, as we were finishing, maybe around 8pm (maybe a little earlier), the place started to get a bit busier. When we left, there were maybe five other tables instead of just us. So why close at 9pm? People on vacation don’t want to eat at 5pm, they want to enjoy their day and then have a restaurant with a bar attached (and since it’s summertime, why close the Black Bear so early? Unless it’s just a matter of staff and money…outside = better this time of year.) that they can enjoy well into the evening. We’d come here much more often if it was just a bit more focused around the good times and diner experience than whatever is going on now.
