We went for our anniversary dinner and were a little disappointed. I had the shrimp and grits, which were one of their specialties and I wasn’t impressed. It was very soupy and not as spicy as I had hoped. There were bits of bacon fat and the shrimp was very plain. It would have been better if the shrimp had some Cajun flavor or something like it. We did have the Bananas Foster Cake and it was very good.

What a surprise to walk in to such an upscale restaurant in Pelham! The decor takes you to another place and is very inviting. The menu offers choices to delight any diner. Our food was delicious. Our server seemed to be stretched over too many tables and we had to wait quite a while before she took our order. The hostess noticed the wait and came and took our drink orders. We looked forward to sharing a bottle of wine but half way through the meal canceled the order. The server apologized saying the bartender was running behind (it was an off time and the restaurant and bar were not crowded). We will go back for another try. This time we will go in the main entrance-I don’t feel it’s well marked.

We ordered boudin balls as a starter and they arrived to the table lukewarm. The ‘grilled’ snapper I ordered was actually more like blackened because it was covered in heavy seasoning and so tough that I could barely cut it with a steak knife. A good piece of fish does not need to be smothered in spices- it just need a squeeze of lemon and that’s all. The asparagus on my plate was sickly looking and the tops had fallen off prior to cooking which is a sign that it was not very fresh to begin with. My grandkids ordered grilled cheese, and get this- it was a hamburger bun flipped inside out with a piece of cheese in the center- I found that to be appalling. They don’t even have a decent loaf of bread back in that kitchen, really? I actually liked the dessert, however. The bananas foster cheesecake far exceeded the actual meal. If only the rest of the meal had been half as good as that….

This place is fantastic! The food is phenomenal and the drinks are fantastic. Jeffery was a wonderful waiter and give him 10/10 on his recommendations and his service. The restaurant is still very reasonably priced for the upscale dining experience. Def recommend and will def be returning. Posted pic of my empty plate for reference.

My husband and I went to Half Shell Oyster House this evening and loved it! The food was great and so was the service. We got crab claws for an appetizer and seafood pasta and seafood pot pie for entrees. My pasta was a large enough serving that I brought half of it home. We will definitely be back again soon.

This was my second time in the establishment. Both times I enjoyed myself. However, this time I sat at the bar. I will say the bartender was personable and knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. I was impressed because the young lady was 7 months pregnant

This is a really cool place. Tremendous ambiance. But see my bio. I am reticent to order crabcakes outside of MD but they advertise made with “lump” meat. Nuh uh, no way. I’d say clawmeat but that might be off. Tighten up your menu descriptions, y’all.

We enjoyed eating here. Ambiance is nice. Apps good. Had smoked yellowfin tuna dip and crab/shrimp dip. Both very good. Had a dozen raw oysters. Very good and shucker exceptional. Entrees included fried shrimp, fried oysters, redfish and stuffed portobello mushrooms. All entrees cooked great and arrived hot. Server was awesome, Carter was his name.

We we tried this place for the first time for lunch but we ordered from the dinner menu. Everything was fabulous. The cup of gumbo was loaded with seas food and vegetable to the last bite which you never see. It was great. The snapper topped with crab and shrimp was excellent. I added a lobster tail and it was cooked perfectly. The fried green tomatoes and crab cake was so good. , my wife had the seafood pasta and the sauce was so good and creamy / cheesy. We can’t wait to go back and try more things
