We had a great time at Thomas and Dutch. Huge wine list with a sommelier who recommended a wonderful rose, perfect for the beautiful weather we were having. The food had great flavors and wasn’t too heavy, perfect for a meal with friends or a romantic night out. I’d recommend doing a round of ceviche shooters to start, the beet salad, duck breast, and beef wellington were also big highlights. They have good drip coffee to sip on with dessert. We had a little fun with it and ordered 4 of the desserts and each of us had a different favorite. We’ll definitely be going back!

I had an amazing time the food was amazing. I met the owner Thomas. He came out personally and said Happy Birthday and thanked us for coming . The staff is nice and professional. The chefs prepared amazing dishes. The Bartenders drinks we’re just right. The hostess was very friendly with an amazing smile. I like the Ambience of it all. The best part was at the end 10 people being able to split the bill through the app, and everyone paid directly. YEAH! I know right.

What an amazing place! The food, wine selection, cocktails, and service were sublime. Excited to share this new place with friends. Make your reservations *now*! The next best restaurant is in town!

Went for lunch. Got the tuna melt with fries and the mushroom appetizer. The mushrooms were super flavorful and had a great texture. The tuna melt was not too mayonnaise-y and I really enjoined the picked vegetables on top. Fries were hot and crispy. Had chocolate cake for dessert. A big enough portion to easily share and great heath like crunchy bits to balance the deep chocolate flavor. Highly recommend. Service and setting were great.

I had a WONDERFUL dinner at Thomas & Dutch last week, highly recommend! We started with the walleye ceviche, which was incredible (and I’m not usually a ceviche person) and continued with the oven braised beets, followed by the shrimp linguini. All of the seafood was FANTASTIC – fresh and perfectly done, but my friends entrees looked delicious as well. We each got a dessert and shared, so it was hard to pick favorite, but the cinnamon whipped cream on the peach cobbler sealed the deal for me.

It was a beautiful day to go out for brunch and my expectations were high based on the marketing photos on Thomas + Dutch’s website. But it was just okay overall and naybe Evanston isn’t much of a brunch city?

I am rewriting a review I posted earlier. The food was good. When we arrived the lights were very bright – thankfully they dimmed them after we arrived. It’s a more pleasant dining experience not feeling like one is in a cafeteria. Two of us arrived together and were seated promptly and ordered drinks which arrived quickly. Our third companion arrived shortly after and she waited 20 minutes for her drink which made it awkward. There were two different servers who came to our table so perhaps there was internal confusion on who was waiting on us? The servers didn’t seem particularly attentive – maybe the 20% mandatory gratuity is a disincentive? Our second round of margaritas were off flavored – all three of us wondered if the bartender had mistaken Amaretto for Cointreau or Grand Mariner ? We sent the drinks back ( first time for me) I sent a feedback to the restaurant and the Director of Operations Phil Cocco sent the following in part message :

What a great evening! The restaurant itself is lovely and the menu is exciting. We had a few appetizers, but don’t forget to order the ciabatta with butter as well. For dinner we had the Beef Wellington and Pork Tenderloin. Both were some of the best we’ve had. Dessert was an outstanding, Key Lime Pie with a twist. Megan, our waitress, made wonderful recommendations, and we appreciated her kindnesses and excellence. We will be back again and again. Thank you!

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I told the staff beforehand, as they asked if we were celebrating anything. Nothing was said or done. Perhaps that’s not something they do? The food was tasty, but very TINY portions, especially the appetizers.
