Very good pizza, Detroit style or not. I’m a big charred or crisp crust thin pizza guy, but also go for a thicker crust if done well. I’m fairly happy with Windy City, for example. Places like Zeeks are incomprehensible to me. Derek’s crust is moist to the center and works well, the sauce is right, and I enjoyed all three meals I got out of a large. Which tells you the serving size (I eat most thin crusts alone). I had a double pepperoni. The onion and mushroom seemed like an afterthought, just so you know.

First time going into this place today and it did not disappoint. Came in without a preorder and Derek whipped one up for me in the name of serving pizza. Took it home and absolutely ate. This ‘za booked me straight to flavortown. Textures moving in an intricate dance. No need to be high or drunk it will do you justice. The kind of bite that just picks you up in its warm embrace. I don’t review often but when something is exceptional you gotta give it credit.

A true detroit slice! We had a large (8 pieces) with a ton of pepperoni. The pepperoni is cupping style, which gets crispy on the edges – as it should! If the Tock is sold out, consider IG messaging. We did and were lucky enough to be squeezed in. We took ours down the street to Fremont Brewing to enjoy alongside a cold one. (Where we also overhead someone in line say – “Woah, where did they get that pizza?”) Next time, I’ll have to try the garlic bread!

It’s really hard to pick the star of the whole experience; honestly every component was perfect, and together they made something glorious.

We were visiting family members in Seattle who are friends of Derek. That’s enough to score a pizza on the house because that’s how Derek operates. But you’ll be happy to pay for one too. It’s as wonderful as any Detroit pizza that we have tasted at home in Michigan. Cheers and thanks to Derek for following his dream and talents.

My friend Derek’s is great pizza! Amazingly flavorful bread, the perfect amount of cheese, and wonderful spices. Since I discovered this pizza I haven’t even seen the point in getting pizza anywhere else! I tell literally everyone I know about this place to the point where my girlfriend even asked Derek to make me a pizza for my birthday. Derek is a great guy who makes great pizza. Best pizza in Seattle. Go here.

Best pizza in Seattle. I’ve been here for a little over a year, and I moved from a place with not particularly good pizza so I made it my mission to find the best. I’ve had Moto, Rocco’s, Windy City, and Cornelly and about 10 other places and My Friend Derek’s is the best. Last time I ordered I got mine with 2 mountains of pep, and counted the pepperoni on the first slice…42 peps. I’m goin 3 mountains next time.

Grew up around Detroit, moved to Atlanta. Traveling to Seattle, this has to be one of the best Detroit pizza places I’ve ever been to. The crust, ingredients, crust. The dough is fermented properly. Sauce is spot on. Delicious gem of a find!
