At our Covington, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. Stopped in for lunch and ordered the seafood platter. Had to wait 10 minutes for food. The fish was cold , the stuffed crab was warm. The shrimp was hot but burnt to a crisp. I would not have served that to myself as a cook let alone a customer. I don’t think I will be going back here for awhile. but the young lady at the register was really nice when I went in.

This place is disgusting. There was a homeless man that sleeps/lives/works in there and washes up in the bathroom in a home depot bucket. He pitches his tent on the roof. He lives there. They have slugs crawling on the freezers in the back. I heard someone scream so I took a picture. They are just crawling on the freezers. Management said nothing. Yesterday the manager was taking shots of patron in the restaurant away from the cameras. There is mold all in the cabinets under the drink dispenser and there is a puddle of nasty dirty water in the floor bc the drain is clogged up. The closet for the mop and broom smelled like a dead body. Be careful where you eat out.

This was what my baked potato looked like that I was given through the drive-thru.The fish sandwich was ok if you like wilted lettuce and broken pieces of fish. The potato was really the all-star of the meal. This was not the first time I had gross food here, but I let the first time go, but now, 3 months after returning on tonight’s visit, I know now I will never go back! Brown old disgusting day’s old baked potato. Covington manager needs training and to train it’s employees on what and not to serve to customers.

Like all fast foods chains, service can be hit or miss. CD is pretty mediocre but at least the food was good. This last time, though, the catfish was tiny and over-fried. Dry. Meager side potions.

Was there today Around 4 or 4:30 had new guy @ register with no supervision took forever for order to be keyed in new guy but still had to repeat order to him at least 4 times and then was wrong, brought it to his attention to correct,other people bringing back up to counter wrong, then guy asked for help to correct from other employee, other employee still on drive thru taking orders we still standing there waiting to get corrected and now he’s put about 5 more drive thru orders ahead of us and we still waiting for about 45 minutes and no help no food, finally had to just get attention and said look just give our money back to us and left. Train your people better felt sorry for the poor guy he couldn’t even key in orders correctly with no backup.

Waited for over 30 minutes for my order and when I received it was barely lukewarm shells in my okra fish looks burnt portions were small front cashier left without pushing out all of the orders before just leaving letting four customers just waiting for food.

The young lady that took my order at the front register was not the average young worker. She was upbeat, had a great attitude, kind, polite, and I could tell she was smiling (even behind the mandatory mask). The food was good, and hot. I ordered 2 dinners, we had the Southern style whitefish, broccoli, and Mac & cheese; however, the portion size of the sides were small. Went back again to Captain D’s today. The portion size of the sides are still small; I’m gonna need a snack tonight.

On Sunday, March 19, 2023. I visited your Covington location, located at 6167 Access Road, Highway 278 Northeast, Covington, GA 30014. I placed an order for a Giant Fish Sandwich Combo, only tartar. Not only was I in line for 20 minutes plus, my order was made incorrectly and there was a hair found in my food. Seeing that I was on my lunch break and I couldn’t return to the restaurant, I called the number on the receipt only to get forwarded to a voice-mail that was not set up. I then returned to the restaurant the next day with the photos of my food and my receipt only to be told that I could not get a refund because they could only give out refunds within 15 minutes of the order being placed. This is highly unacceptable!!! I am beyond disappointed about how the situation is being handled!!! Even when contacting corporate, there is still no response!!! Needless to say, I won’t be returning to this particular location any time soon!!!

Menu at drive thru needs lighting and better speakers. Not a long wait. Food was not good. I see why no one was at location and lined up down hwy 278 for Long John Silvers. I will say the ladies that helped me in the drive thru were kind 3-31-21 around 9 pm. Thank you all for working during pandemic. But corp needs to get better quality food. Shrimp very skimpy. And order of clams very small (pic shown is full order). I want my $26.00 back.
