The sloppy Sooie was an over the top spin on a sloppy Joe. There was almost too much meat to fit on the bun. The seasoned fries were hot and fresh. A trip to a bbq place wouldn’t be complete without a side of greens and these DID NOT disappoint! Even if you think you are full, you really aren’t too full to try the home made banana pudding for desert. Fantastic food and friendly, welcoming staff. Will definitely be going back again!

Stopped in and tried this place tonight “Sooie Bro” ran by my brother man @Al food was damn good definitely had that “mmmm” factor and “full” feeling after ya finish. Sauce was saucing, beans was jumping. Collar greens was mean. Don’t believe my taste buds go try it for yourself instead only had a couple bucks on me so I couldn’t leave a bigger tip but deft had to leave $5 for the 5 food.

I went to the grand opening. I was one of the first four people in line, and it took close to an hour to get my food. The brisket was dry and overcooked. Took an hour to get my food despite being the 4th person in line. Decided to give it another chance hoping they had worked out the kinks. Ordered the pulled pork special. Bland flavor on the pork, overcooked, and not enough sauce. Both times the fries have been flavorless and soggy, even after asking for well fries on the second visit. Unfortunate as I really wanted to like this place…

Not too impressed. Meat was great, I had tips. But service was slow and it wasn’t busy. It’s BBQ, it shouldn’t take 15 minutes to get your food. The sides were nothing special. The fries were very strange, very bland (air fried maybe). First place I’ve ever been to that served fries but had no ketchup.

I ordered 8oz tips w/fries, side of collard greens, mac n cheese and cornbread. The rib tips had a nice amount of meat on the bones but the meat wasn’t tender it was a little too chewy. I requested hot bbq sauce and I didn’t taste the spice or heat. Didn’t care for the taste of the bbq sauce. The fries were not done they were pale looking and had little taste. The greens had no taste, look like they may be canned. There was no meat in it. The mac n cheese had a good consistency but not very much taste to it. The corn bread was dry and little taste. In all it just wasn’t any flavor in the food. The customer service was good and the atmosphere was great. It’s clean and a nice sit down area to dine in. I spent $22 on my meal, I’ve never not finished my bbq this was a first.

I was in Champagne to drop off my son for school. None of us knew where to eat but we knew we like bbq. This place was awesome. I had the brisket sandwich which was seasoned perfectly as were the fries. My wife had sloppy joe equivalent sandwich which she felt was really good too. We will definitely be back here when we’re back in Champagne.

Ok, my peeps. You asked, so my wife and I waited for the smoke to die down and we finally tried Al’s BBQ. I gotta tell ya, worth the wait and we’ll be back. I’m not a fan of the fries, kinda pasty to me, but wife loved em! I also can’t eat cole slaw, but wife said it was ok. The beans to me were extremely great, perfectly cooked, Delicious sauce, and nice and thick like they are supposed to be. Wife was pleased with the rib tips, and I had the 1/3 slab of ribs. That’s 4 bones with tons of meat, and probably the best sauce I’ve eaten ever! Yep, I made a total mess getting in and eating on those! The smoke flavor comes through beautiful, the meat is tender and juicy, and that sauce really makes it all perfect. Ambience inside the old short tower still nice, comfortable, and entertaining. Definitely worth lunch or supper there.

I think it might have been the best brisket I’ve ever had. It was so tender, the flavor was amazing, and I got a pretty large portion. Incredible! Plus, the fries were also super good.

If you are looking for some great barbecue made by some great people, then this is your spot. Everything is made with attention to detail and care. The dining area is a really nice atmosphere and soon they will be having a downstairs bar area for some good barbecue and beers.
