It was 1961. Alan Shepard was the USA’s first man in space. Dion’s “Runaround Sue” topped the music charts. Volkswagen’s funny little car invaded America in droves. And a young school teacher opened a small, one-man pizza restaurant in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which was to be the birthplace of the growing, dynamic Mazzio’s LLC of today.
That original restaurant—named The Pizza Parlor—delighted many Tulsans with the very first pizza they ever ate. The school teacher was Ken Selby, who ran his new business virtually alone and after a full day of teaching.

Went in for the lunch buffet on a Saturday and had to wait to get seated and then wait for pizzas to come out. I felt the restaurant was semi busy but not extremely busy. My waiter was very friendly and kept up with my table. I’ve been to other mazzio’s and noticed the salad bar at this mazzio was missing several items. A couple of missing items are beets and broccoli salad. I also was not a fan of waiting to get seated for a buffet. In other branches you go to the cashier and pay for your buffet and then find a seat. There seem to be a little delay between people being seated and some people going to the cash register to pay.

We paid $24 delivery for a calizon and a large pepperoni pizza. This is what the pepperoni pizza looked like. 2 of the pieces had absolutely no sauce, cheese, or meat, and then there were a couple bubbles on the other pieces that had no sauce or toppings either. How can someone be proud to serve this to a customer?
