We was looking for a place to eat some authentic Mexican food while on vacation and came across this place, our waiter Tito was so energetic and was great, he was funny and made for a pleasant visit, the food was fantastic my husband and I had shrimp fajita taco salad and wow the amount of shrimp that you got in the taco salad was unbelievable there was at-least 12-15 pcs of jumbo sized shrimp, my Brother-n-law and Sister-n-law had the sampler platter and they said it was great, this is a definite must try if you are in the area.

La Altena is the only place in town we go for Mexican food and we go at least once a week, every week. Delicious, fresh authentic food that comes out of the kitchen super fast. The service is great – everyone who works here is super friendly and attentive. We’ve been eating here for 14+ years and highly recommend to everyone.

Pretty dang good. I had carnitas and they were as good as people said. Solid salsa and cheese dip. Kids enjoyed tacos. Very good service and happy hour beer prices.

I started with chips and salsa, and a horchata. The salsa had such a great flavor, I already knew the whole meal was going to be amazing. The horchata was just as I expected, perfect. The carnitas were amazing. The meat was so tender and flavorful, not a single dry bite. I was so full from carnitas, but I managed to get down one of the flautas and it was just as good. Luckily I was smart and got a to-go box so I can enjoy it for lunch tomorrow.
