The onigiri at sankaku is SO GOOD, no joke. I’ve made onigiri at home before but nothing close to as good as what we had here. There are many flavors to pick from, and they’re delicious fresh, but also great for taking on the go! If you’ve never had onigiri before and wanted to try one, the tuna mayo is a great starter option, or if you’re looking for a more interesting/authentic choice, I *highly* recommend the ume konbu (pickled plum, konbu seaweed, and sesame) which was incredible! Definitely worth your time!

Great small restaurant. Look for the Melrose market as it is inside of it. Recommend the hijiki, the yuzu soda, shiso lime soda, and shiso potato onigiri. My friend tried the nastu(eggplant) miso onigiri and they said it was really good.

This is one of my favorite hidden Seattle gems. Tucked away in Melrose market, Sankaku is a great spot to grab a solo lunch, or a take a date. The drinks and onigiri are always super fresh. If you want the latest on what’s available or hours they are open – follow their Instagram. If you go in the weekend youre likely to run into something fun happening at the market. Try the corn – it’s to die for.

We’re visiting from Idaho and discovered this gem after searching for Onigiri in the area and WOW!!! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! Delicious and unique cocktails, huge and phenomenal Onigiri, and super tasty sides that the owner (who I learned afterwards is the owner! Very sweet woman) gave to us complimentary she also gave us some mushroom chowder on our way out. I would be eating there all the time if we lived closer, but can’t wait til our next visit here to go back! Fantastic food and experience. Thank you

I had higher hopes for this restaurant. The service was nice and the space was adorable, but the tuna tasted and smelled like it was from a can. We ordered our onigiri for dine in and it still came wrapped in cellophane. The lemonade was nice, but there were a few looming issues for me when it came to my experience.

This place is so delicious. All the onigiri is to die for. We got the ume konbu, roasted corn, tuna mayo, and salmon basil. All were very delicious l although I think that our favorite was the salmon basil. We also ordered the hijiki salad which was AMAZING. The fried tofu in it was unbelievable. If I lived in Seattle I would eat here all of the time. Plus it’s a small woman owned business so even more of a reason to support. Obsessed.

The food was very good! Place has limited seating so be prepared to wait, a bit or a while. The flavor in everything was very good! To try the more popular onigiris, make sure you arrive earlier, you will be left with the less popular ones which are still really good.

I’m an occasional visitor at Sankaku, I wish the storefront was more accessible (because it’s so good). The offerings are simple and might seem underwhelming at first, but the onigiri and sides are so delightful. I grabbed a salmon basil, tuna mayo, and nasu miso to hold me over while at the airport today. It was the right move – filling, yummy, but not too heavy. I also bought nasu miso, shiso potato, and corn onigiri for my vegetarian friend to take home after dropping me off at the airport. She just messaged me to tell me that she LOVED them. There’s something for everyone 🙂 Rie (if the receipt is correct, haha) is kind and courteous.

This is by far the best onigiris I’ve eaten! All the onigiris we’ve bought are fabulous! We also had their sweet potato salad and hijiki side dishes and, we r totally floored! Parking is a little hassle but if u do takeout, u can parked at the 30 min zone and just go somewhere else to slowly enjoy their creations. Also, you need to enter Melrose Market to find them because their establishment is not displayed outside the building. We almost walked away thinking they r no longer there until we entered Melrose market. It’s on the right before Butter Home. It’s really strange that their establishment is not displayed with the other businesses under Melrose Market.

This place is a hidden gem. The onigiri is really tasty here, especially the nasty miso. It’s also a great snack to have on the go. It’s tucked in the middle of Melrose Market and has a small seating area if you want to dine in. They also have a variety of tasty sides for a more complete meal. My only complaint is that it’s not closer to me…or maybe that’s a good thing because I’d probably have onigiri every other day.
