DISCLAIMER: I am traveling from SC to get on a cruise ship from Fort Lauderdale, nearby. I stayed at the hotel next door before deciding to go here for breakfast. I went with friends and family.

What a great diner this place is, making old school New York style deli dishes and more. I went with the amazing French toast and smoky bacon for some sweet and savory start to my day. Perfectly cooked, nice crust on the toast and perfect crisp on the bacon. My lady went with what she called a bacon, egg, and cheese omelette on a fresh made egg bagel. Quick, clean, and outstanding service with excellent food is how you earn five stars and other awards, if your close stop by and see for yourself, you will be glad you did.

Went with my usual ex-Miami Beach High brunchmates. We are the original “Deli Mavens,” having been brought up with Wolfie’s, Junior’s and Rascal House, among all of the other delis found from North Miami Beach down to Coral Gables. This place is the real deal, as far as the food and presentation of it. Quality of the cold cuts is good. Sandwiches were suitably tall. Fish platters were complete with requisite toppings. Included was a non-standard accompaniment–guacamole. Soup was seasoned without being overbearing, and rib-sticking. Potato knish (pronounced “kuh–NISH”) was a bit different–smushed down almost flat and without any crispness to the crust.Service was a bit confusing, with a “drink server” and a “food server.” Unless they were kidding. Place is very brightly lit and white inside. Bring sunglasses.

Very busy restaurant – can be hard to find parking. It has been completely renovated – it looks great. There are a lot of staff working but the cleaners who are wiping up the tables bring food for the servers and are easily confused which table they have to go to. Food was fairly cold upon arriving to the table. Food was pretty average – the star was the homemade bagel with cream cheese. We purchased a small glass apple juice and it was priced at $4.99 – we only found this out after getting the bill. It wasn’t the greatest breakfast but was definitely not the worst. I would go back for the bagel.

This was an easy five stars. Service was absolutely impeccable. Waitress was at the table when she needed to be and very sweet to us. Restaurant was very clean, tables were promptly bused and cleaned.

It’s been a while since I’ve been at Gramps! It has always been a great stop for breakfast before heading to the airport (FLL). The renovation looks great and the front bakery section is more organized. Our breakfast was delicious and service was spot on!

I haven’t been there for about 25 years. Grampa’s new and looks nice. The waitress was very accommodating, and the food came out hot. I found my eggs benedict to be very salty even after the bacon, so I left some of it. My friend gave me a half of her Bagel and cream cheese that she didn’t want. It was fun going back to Grampa’s.
