Great food. Perfect omelette. Great staff. It was a Monday so a little slow but staff was very friendly and attentive and clearly take a lot of pride on the restaurant. Instead of just hanging around chatting, all were cleaning and looking after prep details. Great environment and happy to see such a proud staff. Kudos to management for

This restaurant is wonderful! I went here with my partner for date night last night and my first impression was how beautifully designed the space was. The design team behind the restaurant did an excellent job of making it comfortable, chic and cozy (thank you for REAL tabletop candles, a surprisingly rare occurrence these days!). The cocktails we ordered were great – especially the Mon Cherry. I think we ordered well, thanks to our server, and from start to finish the dinner was awesome. We had the olive / anchovy / pickled green pepper to start. It was a perfect one-bite for each of us, refreshing and bright. Then we ordered the apricot and duck confit – it was fantastic. We had the chopped salad which was simple but tasty, the talo, which was unique and delicious, the Spanish tortilla – one of the best ones we’ve ever had, and finally THE DUCK. The duck almost felt like a sweet/savory dessert because it was so perfect and decadent. It was great for us to split but also would be a perfect main dish if you have a big appetite. The duck was crispy on the outside, tender otherwise, and came with an almond purée that mimicked buttery whipped mashed potato. And it came with a Cherry compote that was so delicious. This one was a show stopper! Lastly, we had the basque cheese cake – really nice, simple, and well prepared. I totally recommend this restaurant!!

When you walk in, it feels like you’ve entered a time capsule. The atmosphere and decor made you feel like you are not in downtown anymore. The staff was warm and inviting and the food was filled with rich flavors. And take it easy on the $7 martinis .

I came here on Christmas night with my family for dinner. Cafe Basque has restored my faith in LA having a great French restaurant. The service was fantastic, food (prefix menu) incredible, and the vibes immaculate. I will absolutely be coming back with friends and business associates in the future. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a recently opened restaurant on the bottom level of The Hoxton Hotel in Downtown LA. I had never tried Basque cuisine before and had a wonderful experience dining in with friends.

Ok, I have to say the interior vibe is standardly great. However, we do not have enough food for that price. This restaurant should not say they are French. It should be TAPAS, small dishes. Also, why it took so long time for getting us bottled beer? One star for the vibe, and one star for the good flavor of those small dishes.

I had the pleasure of dining at this amazing restaurant recently, and I have to say, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere. Be sure to try the duck- it’s simply divine!

Just popped in for dessert on opening night, but can already tell this is going to a special special place for downtown angeles. Big fan of chef Daniel Rose from his Michelin starred restaurant Le CouCou in New York City. Rather than porting that high end, formal, traditional French restaurant he (I think smartly) brought us food from the Basque region which share a similar climate & attitude to food to Los Angeles. The space feels nice and polished without being stuffy and just about everything on the menu looks great and should connect with Angelenos. As a downtown resident can’t wait to come back and see if this is really the all-day cafe of my dreams.

Went in for the pre fixe menu on Christmas and it did not disappoint! Everything was so flavorful. Highly recommend. Excited to try their standard menu in the coming weeks. Definitely the new downtown go-to!
