We went to Cajun Steamer for my daughter’s birthday. Food was excellent and plentiful. “Market price” is not a fun term on the menu, but that’s seafood. It’s quite expensive but again, typical of seafood. Friendly staff, our waiter was knowledgeable and polite. The manager made his rounds, greeting and visiting tables.

Worst Cajun/seafood experience ever. My son & I ordered apps & the steamed platter for two. He wanted crab legs & crawfish. I usually go for oysters & mussels. The seafood tasted overly “fishy,” not fresh. The oysters & mussels were so dry and rubbery, they could not be eaten. There were no crawfish on our platter. We sent the meal back & were refunded a mere 50% on the platter alone. My son now has food poisoning. Horrible food and management.

I have to say it is a mix feeling over our meal. First we ordered the Gator Tail, I wish they had a Cajun ranch, the cocktail sauce didn’t work and for a table size it was smaller than I got last time. So that was a bummer, but it was good. Our meal showed up and my wife got the Red Fish Rockefeller and that was good and sized perfectly. I ordered the Mardigas Scrambler and I have to say the flavors was good, but could have more eggs. The crayfish where small so It left me really wanting more to the meal without the potato filler. I won’t give up on the place but will try other meals. The waitress we have is amazing, but overwhelmed. Chelbie thank you for everything.

Cajun Steamer was a cute experience. The location is near a popular location in Murfreesboro. The atmosphere inside is live and positive. Waitresses were very young and lacked customer service skills. We ordered gator bites and they were decent. Kind tough and they only gave us a handful to eat and share. I got the catfish dinner and it was good but my veggies were over cooked and burnt a bit.

Shrimp and grits were great. It had some kind of broth on it that was delicious I’ve never had grits like that. My mom got the bayou chicken and raved about it the whole time. We had the fried boudin balls and creole dip for apps both were amazing. I’d choose the creole dip over the boudin balls though it did have some heat.

The LIVE MUSIC WAS AWESOME!!!! The food was also good as as always! The service was good and in a timely manner considering the crowd! I had the Zydeco Catfish – fried catfish fillet served over a bed of rice smothered in crawfish etouffee. side of steamed veggies and Wife had fish to tacos, DELICIOUS!

The food was OK. We ordered the steamer plate for two I think it was called? The crawfish had a decent flavor, the shrimp were bland, and the oysters weren’t good at all. My favorite thing was probably the steamed clams and crab legs. You can order butter on the side. We ordered the cajun butter and it tasted just like regular butter. The staff was nice. Looking at the reviews I could see where going for the fried food may be better but that’s it.
