Finally, real BBQ in the Willmar area. While we’re at it, I should mention the fact that they actually make cocktails at their bar…which is quite different than mixing cheap liquor with a mix. Food was good, atmosphere was warm and inviting. Staffing was short, but by no fault of the owners…they even came over to greet us personally. And back to the BBQ…it’s legit. Will be going back.

Had the three meat platter, shared with the hubby. Meat was great, Country potatoes were good, baked beans were good. Also had stuffed meatloaf and fries, that was good except the sauce on the top, took that off and was good. Had two appetizers…Pineapple & Bacon which was AMAZING and bacon wrapped mac and cheese which was so so…the boys liked it, girls not so much as it was dry. Entrees come with 2 sides…choose salad and fries for one and salad and potatoes for another. Then we got the bill…there was an additional $2 charge for two meals. When asked what this is for, it was for choosing the salads. Additional fee is fine, but they should definitely have this on the menu. It says 2 sides included, but no mention of additional costs.

A must-stop at restaurant! All around the service was phenomenal, the smalltown family-like feeling and the wait staff is AWESOME! Ryan G knew our kid’s names by the end of our dining experience! Not to mention the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was INCREDIBLE! When it comes time for a dessert, you have to try the butter cake w/ice cream! Thank you Wood ‘n Boar for a great evening

Had a date night with friends and we had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was very attentive. We ordered a couple appetizers, the bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers and the brisket egg rolls. The table was divided on their favorite, both were great. Entrees we had the pulled pork, a couple steaks and the prime rib. The guys absolutely loved their steaks. Great flavor, cooked to perfection. My sangria was delicious but my favorite thing was the warm butter cake!! Phenomenal. Love my desserts! Can’t wait to go back!

GREAT place! Not fancy, but quite nice with a wonderful smokey smell in the air. Service was a little light, but on his behalf the place was FULL of customers. Anthony did try to take care of all, good waiter. Had prime, VERY good flavor, right on for medium rare, price was a bit steep. This is NOT a dig… The sides were on the smaller size. I was very happy about that, so I could focus more on my steak, not some huge pile of other stuff just to fill you up. Had smoked cabbage my Brother and I agreed>>OMG that was wonderful flavour!!! Also had the country potatoes, good, kinda light on flavor, but if I wanted stronger I could salt/pepper. The Manhattan with smoked cherry was quite good. Also had the (sorry, memory issue) Carmel cream with apple coctail… holy moley that was an excellent after dinner drink.

I liked the atmosphere. The food was good but very spendy for sandwiches. Also very slow to get food, we were there over 2 hours. Waiter was friendly.

Had my first dining experience. Ambiance was good, had a reservation so that helped. Service good. Have to say, this is in essence “barbeque” cuisine. Had the meat sampler plate. Brisket very good, chicken OK. Very disappointed with ribs. Should be perfection at restaurant known for barbeque. Very tough. Couldn’t even separate them without a steak knife. Flavor ok. Should have offered some levels of spicy sauce like rib restaurants do. Toughest ribs I’ve ever had. Small 3 bite salad side very mediocre, potato option also mediocre. Will try again but they really need to get the ribs right.
