At our Belleville, IL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Customer service was pretty reasonable especially given the idea that the store is short handed. I tried the lobster rolls and wasn’t as much of a fan. That would a personal preference to the lobster mix being super cold but the bun being butter and warm. I would only change the mix to be warm. My total was under $8 so can’t really complain. The overall taste was better than I would have expected from Captain Ds.

Evidently employees can decide that they just don’t feel like taking orders at the moment & decide to shut the store down during normal business hours when ever they feel like it. 8:48 pm Sat. Aug 26, 2023 I pull into the drive thru, all store lights are on, I wait and wait, say hello a few times, finally someone comes on the mic & says “we are currently not taking orders at the moment”. I ask, when will you start taking orders? They reply “about 9:15”. That’s it. No explanation, reason, no “sorry you drove all the way out here for absolutely nothing”.

Love the food n sweet tea. The service is usually great n friendly. But today it was new faces and rude service we waited 10 minutes for an order of mozzarella sticks that weren’t hot. I’m still giving it 5 stars cause the regular staff are awesome. 6/26/2023. Sunday.

Ordered my food online, set app the window for a long time. Got home food was terrible. The fish better was wait crispy on the outside. The inside wasn’t done. Hush puppies and shrimp was overcooked . Only thing that was halfway decent was the big potato big disappointment.

I came and got the 10 piece fish dinner for my husband and I after church today and all the employees were very courteous and nice and the fish was crispy and delicious and the fries were crispy and delicious and the hush puppies were crispy and delicious and the macaroni and cheese was creamy and delicious! The best to go meal we have had from anywhere ever!

We got there around 6:30 p.m. Right after we got there, a large amount of people came in. There was already a long line around the building for the drive-thru. Now there is also a long line inside. When we were finally able to order, I thought the employee was very kind, patient and helpful. We waited for about 20 minutes for it to be ready. We got it to go. It probably would have been better if we had eaten it there. The fish and shrimp were good . The chicken was tough and the hushpuppies were flavorless. Everything’s was lacking enough seasonings. I rate the employees a 5. I took away for the food. I was sorry for the employees. They were doing an excellent job despite being flooded with too many people at once.

Order a fish sandwich only to drive all the way home and discover fried okra drove all the way back. Expected a fish sandwich and to have it taking off my bill but was told they have a food count policy and would not give me a refund. Great way to treat your customers Captain D’s throughly upset as I’m sure the customer that order the fried okra is. Going across the street to A&W now for fish suggest you do the same.
