My wife and I stopped by hoping for a nice clam shack experience. While the location is good, food was a disappointment. The lobster roll was very small for the $30 charged. Fried clams were cold and was more like strips than with bellies…From the order at the window to delivery was disorganized, not sure if it was new help or just college kids that did not take pride in delivering good service. There were a few exceptions, bartender and busboy were great.

I loved it! Total Beach vibe, seafood platters and a bar inside. Inside or outside dining with great ocean view and a very long pier for walking or fishing.

I don’t know how to say all the good things about Hoyt’s! I’ll sum it up to incredible customer service right from the door. I only had a beer and sampled the chowda. However, the beer was the perfect temperature and last but it least, THE BEST chowda north of MA!

Love the atmosphere, the food was very good the only thing that would make it better is if they had some cocktail waitresses.

A previous reviewed stated exactly the same comments about the food and service as I received. The lobster roll was very expensive and small and very poor quality. Very dry chunks of meat, no flavor. The fries were frozen crinkle cut and again no flavor.

I has the clam cakes and they were very dry!! My husband had the scalllops and they were watery. This restaurant has an amazing location and it’s too bad the food is not as good. Also the tartar sauce that was being served expired over 17 days ago!! The price of the food does not match the portion sizes. The only reason I give them a 3 is because of their location. We will not be back!! So sad!!

Be prepared for it to be really busy on the weekend. Some of the best fried seafood around. You can’t beat sitting out back at the picnic tables and getting a frozen drink.

New ownership. Sadly this iconic restaurant is no longer. The food is average at best and there is no longer table service. Its now a fancy takeout place where you can eat inside. I want the new owners to embrace the old way of doing things and until then, we won’t be back. Very sad as we looked forward to great dinners and walks afterward on the rocks with our kids.

Paid for 2 very mediocre lobster rolls, a chicken sandwich and a large basket of fries, for close to 100$. To have a pager to pick up your own food on a tray like a fast food restaurant, get your own condiments and napkins, and no silverware. To then discard your own tray, again, like a fast food restaurant. Non alcoholic beverages (soda) are also bottle served so no free refills. All to leave a really decent tip, because you pay for your food (and service??) ahead of time?
