Old style atmosphere with solid quality food. The bread used for the fried shrimp poboy is the first part of the magic. Crispy crust that flakes easily exposing the moist perfect bread hidden within. The second part is the fresh shrimp, fried to perfection.

The food here is so good. The meat pie and crawfish boudin ball appetizers are delicious. We had sweet tea and lemonade. For dinner we had the Alligator PoBoy and friend shrimp PoBoy. So tasty. The place had a cool look to it and the owner (assuming the lady we spoke to was the owner) was very friendly and made our visit a fun one. Take a trip here when you are in the area.

Food’s great. Owners are lost. Went from 2 locations to barely being open for 3.5hrs a day at one location.

The po boys are very tasty and the homade potato rounds are excellent. A couple of things to note: I wish I had known that the potato rounds were unsalted before leaving the drive through. This made them a little bland…I would recommend using seasoning salt to really bring out the flavor. When it comes to po boys, fresh bread is everything. My bread didn’t seem to be that day’s, but it certainly wasn’t bad and it wouldn’t deter me from purchasing again. Now, here’s what would. Usually po boys come with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. I like to add jalapeño and onions. In this instance, it didn’t (I believe it came with one veggie…not sure which one). I added lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and jalapeños. Each veggie addition cost $1.25 each. Yikes! Come on y’all! Usually veggies do not cost extra (they certainly don’t at Subway, Quiznos or Jimmy John’s). Now, I get it. You’re not a huge national franchise and you have to recoup some costs. However, $1.25 buys a whole head of lettuce, a couple tomatoes, a whole onion, and a whole jar of jalapeños. 50 cents a piece seems reasonale. Don’t make the customer feel ripped of. Give them value. I enjoyed the food, however, I can’t afford to spend $20 on a po boy (especially when I can get the same thing somewhere else for about $12) on a regular basis so I won’t be back.

As a Cajun girl this was Hands down, the best shrimp poboy in a long time! Huge fresh shrimp fried to perfection. 6 on half. Plenty. Bread was French and perfect. Omg I ate it so fast, I forgot to take a darn pic. I have eaten this all my life in several restaurants in this state & this today was a highlight of my life. Bravo!!!

Anytime I’m in Lafayette, I look for places the locals eat. As I was driving on University, I saw it: older building, full parking lot. I whipped in. Once inside I was greeted by friendly staff. I went to what the half Julien Special. My lone complaint is I found it a bit salty. Not deal-breaker salty. Just salty for me. Otherwise it was good.
