I’ve been to Chemn Cafe a few times and it’s always an enjoyable experience and today’s visit was not an exception! Their card machine was down and the barista at the register kindly let us know that they were cash only at the moment. I luckily had cash so it wasn’t a problem until I spotted their cute collection of stickers! They have a promo of buy their Chemn Cafe sticker, get one free! I didn’t have enough cash on me so one of the other baristas (I didn’t catch their names) said it was on her and gave me the sticker plus the free one! I was delighted; who doesn’t love stickers? I also ordered an iced caramel latte and my husband ordered a hot French vanilla latte and we enjoyed each of our own drinks. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and I look forward to returning and maybe get some studying done with a nice , handcrafted drink!

Chemn Cafe never disappoints! I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and have been hooked ever since. I don’t know which one is better – the people, the pastries, or the coffee! Everything is very reasonably priced. Personally, I think you pay WAY more for coffee that’s overhyped at Starbucks. I usually have to get a TON of sugar and cream in my coffee, but at Chemns I can pretty much drink it without because it’s THAT good.

Great coffee and lattes. Monica, the owner, is super cool and very welcoming. I had an americano and my wife had a latte with beet root. Both were delicious. The cookies are also very good.

The best coffee in town! Their vibe is AMAZING! The owner is very welcoming and her daughter is super cool too. When you walk in it feels like you are already at home! Definitely stop by and get some friendly conversation with your drink. They have a lounge setup, so you could stay and study while you drink.

Great coffee, amazing food and wonderful staff , however , the AC wasn’t on and when it finally came on it was a small amount for about 5 minutes. I was trying to work but was so uncomfortable from the heat inside I had to leave.

Had a great time with my son there as we were passing through town. He ordered the shaved ice and I got an flavored iced coffee. Both were great with great service and the ambiance is excellent. Also the owner was very friendly and made a lot of great suggestions for things to do in town. We both really enjoyed the experience.

Very cute and locally owned spot. Wifi is blazing fast if you are wfh. Elgin’s aura definitely permeates the decor with hundreds of knick knacks and repurposed art. Definitely a spot to try flavored coffees!
