Kaiyo “The Single” 7 Year
“The single” whiskey from kaiyo is a 7 year old malt whiskey, made on a coffey still in japan, and aged in bourbon barrels before spending 6 months aging on the ocean in japanese mizunara oak. The constant rocking pulling out the oaks delicate fruity and floral flavors. Vanilla, honey, floral and hints of spice and coconut. A honey note lingers on the finish.
Kaiyo The Sheri
The sheri is a limited release, a once in a lifetime whisky consid- ered by kaiyo’s master blender to be the finest work of his ca- reer. Aged in a combination of mizunara oak, oloroso sherry, and pedro ximenez sherry casks. Bottled at 46% abv and non chill-filtered. Only 450 cases produced.
Iwai Tradition
Blended whisky comes from both malt and grain. It’s distilled at japan’s highest distillery, mars shinshu distillery. The whisky is named after kiichiro iwai, known as “the silent pioneer of japan whisky,” and the former mentor of masataka taketsuru, the founder of nikka and suntory whisky. On the nose are sherried notes, peat and malt. The palate is peppery with flavors of ripe cherry, honey and toffee with a beautiful ginger spice. The finish is long, crispy and rounded.
The Yamazaki 12 Year
Yamazaki 12 year has a rich, full-bodied mouthfeel which is surprising for its age. This whiskey is aged in a combina- tion of american, spanish, and japanese oak barrels, adding influences from all three types of barrels and it definitely shows up on the palate. Warm apricot jam, vanilla wafer, and berry flavors dance over the palate while an undercurrent of spice runs just underneath the surface flavors providing complexity and depth.

This restaurant will have you dreaming about the flavor profiles and pairings presented in their dishes. I have only been to Kuro twice now and both times I was completely blown away by the food, drinks, AND service. The portions are perfect however the taste will have you wondering if you should order more! The staff was overall delightful, a few members of the kitchen even came out and brought some of our dishes over. I am still trying to process all of the flavors. If you don’t have room for dessert after, trust me STILL GET IT. Our server, Sean was a delight. He held the perfect balance of conversation and appropriate space to allow us to enjoy our meal. He also encouraged us to explore different menu options. This was the best dinner I’ve had in a long time PLEASE GO TO KURO!

We were all set to go to Docs Oyster House for an anticipated great seafood dinner. Literally as we’re turning into the valet, I see I made the reservation for Docs Oyster Bar in New York! How the hell did I manage that?? AI has a long way to go, else it would have realized I was trying to go from home to New York to Atlantic City in a matter of about two hours.

Probably the best meal I’ve ever consumed. This restaurant takes it to another level. The menu is flavorful. It consists of small plates. I highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar so you can watch all the action in the kitchen and maybe even get a special treat;) this is a MUST visit place while in town!

I’ve been here many times and every time I order the menu tasting. Even with different servers, the food has been different every time and I’ve loved everything. If you don’t want to spend the money on the menu tasting, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. This has to be the best restaurant in Atlantic City. Definitely make a reservation as the wait time can be incredible if you don’t. It’s the perfect spot to impress a date.

My husband and I went on a Friday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the arrival to the goodbye, it was a beautiful Experience. I would travel to AC only to eat here again. Our server was Katrina! Knowledgeable about the menu and had great recommendations. She always had a real great smile on her face, and when we mentioned that all the staff seemed very happy to be working there, She didn’t hesitate to mention how great is to work there, she loves the environment and the quality of the food that she serves. We decided to go for the mapping menu. Best decision ever! Every bite was a piece of heaven, also a surprise.Drinks didn’t fall behind, we ordered the Shi and the Aka, I wish I know how to make them. Delicious. We decided to go for dessert, and Katrina said “one dessert will be enough for you guys” we wanted to order two, but we decided to follow her recommendation. To our surprise, she brought a beautiful extra dessert with a sign of happy anniversary and a candle. That gesture made us really happy.Thank you Katrina for being so amazing, and Thank you to then owners and managers for creating such a beautiful ambiance where your employees are happy and can offer this level of service.I will be back hopefully soon.

We had an amazing experience at Kuro last night. It’s been a couple of years since our last visit and the food and service continues to be exceptional. We enjoyed the ceviche and sushi rolls, they were very flavorful and tasty. Our waitress made some great recommendations in addition to her pleasant and exceptional service. Cocktail was delicious as well. Kuro is in the Hard Rock Hotel so the ambiance is always lively and upbeat. It’s definitely a place we will dine at on our next visit to AC.

Kuro always earns 5 stars!! The food is amazing. The Wagyu Beef Tacos are to die for. We found ourselves ordering 2nds of many of the dishes like the Lobster Dumplings. The staff is wonderful; very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. And everyone is so attentive. You finish a plate and someone takes it off your table. You take a few sips of your water and someone refills your glass. A manager came by to check on us which is always a nice touch. Our waiter, Tommy, was just a great guy with a perfect personality. Overall a very comfortable atmosphere with great food and great service!
