I had only one drink and it was good. The food was good, kinda pricey at $10 a taco. Steak taco was seasoned well and very flavorful however meat was chewy and kinda hard to eat. Had a salad with all this and nuts on the salad were stale and old, ruined the salad. Overall it was good, there’s some flavor there but with prices it’s ok.

The last time I visited this place was about 5 years ago, and it was so memorable that I suggested to my friend we go have lunch.

Haven’t been here in years and it certainly did not disappoint me. Kind of like coming home. Comfort food, great service and a nice atmosphere.

Fish tacos was really good, but their Yaya (?) was just okay. Go for their happy hour to try a bit of everything. We only went once and service was attentive and friendly.

I think this more of a bar than a restaurant. The food is, at best, okay. The wife and I both got a combination plate. The rice must have been on the plate and under the salamander for at least an hour to be that dry and hard, the beans were okay. The chili relleno was good, but they used cheddar, which should be a sin they should confess to whomever they worship. My enchilada and her tamales were too similar. Her tamale didn’t even have masa, just a corn tortilla. The shredded chicken in both was okay for boiled chicken, just no flavor. I have a feeling it would have been better after a few margaritas. Ambiance was okay, the wait staff were attentive and friendly, just not what I was hoping it was.

To start, the chips were burnt, the salsa was bland and the bean dip was terrible. Ordered the premium chardonnay and was served the house swill. The server corrected. The fish tacos were mostly breading and did not have much flavor. The rice tasted like it had been in the pan for quite a while and dried out. The chili relleno and the enchilada tasted the same, bland and without any distinctive flavors. They tasted mostly the same. Did not eat very much (almost a whole plate of food left) and at the end the server did not ask how things were, nor did he ask if we wanted to take the uneaten food home. He knew it was not good. Do not waste your hard earned money on this place. What a waste of money.

I have been coming to Cactus Ya Ya for a few years now and even though the veggie quesadilla might not sound like your a cup of tea try it anyways because the sun-dried tomato sauce that comes with it is absolutely fantastic. I get it every time I go there and it’s amazing and it always makes my day

Very decent neighborhood cantina and restaurant. Attractive terrace for out-door seating–but note that only service dogs are allowed there. Very welcoming and attentive wait staff. Solid food options including superior fish tacos and a huge tostada offering with well-coojed shreded beef.. Decent beers on tap and via bottles. Good house cocktails. Worth a visit!

If you come here you come for the ya ya rolls which are always delicious. The enchiladas are just okay, pretty heavy tomato base. Salmon Caesar salad is not bad 4th of July other than the croutons which I don’t like.
