OK if you like lard in everything. Large servings. Nice presentation. Attentive waitress. Guacamole was fresh and nice green color. Salsa was good and chips were fresh and crispy. But beans, flour tortillas and rice reeked of lard. If you like that flavor you will find the food good. But I do not. It’s a matter of taste.

Foods the same year round. Tried twice, once the mole (chicken) was dry. Parking sucks. Personally not somewhere I’d dine in at. Then the second time, I tried the smothered burrito chili Verde pork was dry and bland good luck to the owners

It’s a take out place so the service was just fine. The food was good though. We were hungry when we got there after being at Eel River and leaving from there to come here at the advice of the locals. Not bad. Not amazing.

Loved it! The food was delicious, just like my mamá makes it. All great items on the menu. From their huge and delicious freshly made flour tortilla to the molcajete with rice and beans, La Costa is the real thing in Mexican food.

Stopped in for lunch as there are not many places in Fortuna to dine at. We ordered enchiladas and Chile relleno plates with rice and beans. The enchiladas were ok as was the Chile relleno but nothing to write home about. The place is small, looks like a family operation and the beer is cold, food hot and service good. The ambiance is not much, but if in Fortuna, it’s a roll of the dice, and La Costa won. The server was pleasant, and for a small business, I believe we should all support their efforts and existence.

That fried tilapia brings me back every time. The chips and salsa also. The plates are enormous. Only thing is too many flying insects since it was hot. Plenty of parking. Nice lady who took our orders.

Food is sooooo good. I love the molcajete, shrimp tostada, and shrimp cocktail. It was busy, so I could have used more water, but the service was great. The atmosphere is great. Love the food and the people.
