First time there tonight. Bartender was awesome very polite and professional (Jason) very attentive. The wing’s were delicious. Only reason for four was because of the smoking that kind ruined it for me. But great food, atmosphere!

You will not find better wings in Pittsburgh. It’s a well kept secret. The place is chill AF, pool table, darts, big screens and a welcoming atmosphere. It is easily a favorite neighborhood bar. But seriously – I have been looking for the wings I had in high school for decades and I finally found the same taste here at Hop. Sloppy or dry, well done or soft, ranch or BC… You only think you’ve had wings until you’ve had Hop House wings.

One of the few places I know with indoor smoking – but with a separate section for non smokers (this is the kind of thing that you may want to know as the main area is smoke filled). The bar is lively with a good selection of domestics that are often rotated – get a flight as a sampling. The wing flavors are unique takes on classic flavors and delicious. Our pizza was a little soft on the bottom, but flavorful. The cost was very reasonable.

We visited The Hop House on a Sunday night. They weren’t very busy so we sat at the bar. The other patrons seemed to all be regulars. The menu is limited- mostly fried bar food, but what we had was good. The wings were really good. The temperature was hot, the texture was crispy on the outside and the flavors were tasty. The super hot definitely has some heat. The bartender was the only server. She was friendly and stayed on top of everything. The only downside to me is that they allowed smoking in the bar. Definitely a place we’ll return to.

Dirty and very limited choices. Place has gone downhill over the last few years. Used to Have a ton of beers always rotating and great food. No wonder the parking lot is always empty

Decided to give this place another shot after I heard they moved to non smoking. That’s true but not completely. You still have to take a short walk through the bar area which still allows smoking. So now they have a non smoking section. The entire place isn’t non smoking. I don’t fully understand how this place allows indoor smoking because they have to be one of the last around. They have a good menu here. The wings are good and they have some other options like wood fired pizza. It’s kind of a shame that they don’t put more stock into the food side versus the bar side because their food is really really good but I can’t bring myself to come here often because of the smoking. You can section it off and call it non smoking but you can still smell it if you’re sitting by the door.

Decent beer selection (23 taps) but, as the name of the place indicates, quite a strong hop presence in the selection.
