It’s a pretty typical Asian buffet. They do have really awesome wings if you can ever get them when they’re fresh. They do cycle their options on the buffet line pretty frequently, but some of their stuff is definitely still what you find on any other buffet line. It’s a cool little place to go and grab a bite, but there’s lots of other options in the area that serve the same thing. The prices are pretty fair but not great and they’re ambiances okay. I would say if you’re looking for some good buffet and you’re in Monett and don’t feel like driving far, this would be a good place to check out

The second time I went here, the food was not filled up, even though it was only 12pm noon. They didn’t have a lot of variety of food, mainly chicken. The signs were wrong on several foods (it’ll say beef, but they had a chicken dish in the tray instead. There was no sushi when I went there, in case you were hoping that this buffet had some. The only plus side was that it costs $11 for lunch and about $13-14 for dinner.

Well, to start with, my wife and I came here on Saturday to have lunch at the Monett address. Apparently it was a bad time of day. 3:00 in the afternoon. All of the food on the buffets was dried up, hard as a rock, the the food that was supposed to be crunchy was actually hard and chewy. You can tell that it had obviously been there for hours. The green beans were pretty much black. You needed a chisel to cut the pieces of chicken. Flies were buzzing around the food bars plus us at the table. The real kicker was the rude hostess. When she asked how are meal was, I told her that it was not so good. I got a shrug and a “well”. I told her everything was dried up and tough. She said it was a bad time of day. I said that they need to take care of things a little better. She tells me that it would be too expensive to throw all of that food out and they they can’t afford to make fresh stuff for one table. We were not the only table there. There were at least six other tables of people. Then, she proceeds to tell me that that is why they close down after lunch during the week and then reopen for dinner. For heaven’s sake!! It’s a saturday! People will be coming in all day. But I can guarantee you that it will never be me again. Between the poor food and a smug attitude of the hostess, I won’t be making a trip there any more.

The food barely had any flavor and there was barely an selections to choose. I was so excited to eat until I saw the food. The service was really great and nice but, I thought there was going to be seafood and fruits but there wasn’t. I’m really disappointed and I hope there buffet gets more food and selections.

I have known the family a good many years, dating back to its original location and my adolescent years playing games with their son whom shares my vintage. The staff are prompt, attentive, friendly, they treat you like family and always present with an upbeat smile. The food is piping hot, never disheveled, always delicious, Monett is blessed to have such a great selection of earnest and delicious eateries serving our small town. The next time you’re in, or if you’re looking for a stop, try the General’s Chicken – A personal favorite, and a flavor punch that will leave you full, satisfied, and perhaps hankering for more the next time you’re in !!
