Food was excellent and the server was attentive. Small menu (which I prefer) and your server will give wine recommendations based on your order if you ask! Patio was right on the road so noisy and cars pretty close, would recommend sitting inside for more formal vibe. We’ll be coming here again for sure!

This is a new restaurant for us in our neighborhood. After seeing the stellar reviews, we decided to check it out for Mother’s Day lunch. This was a three course meal. The waiters were fantastic – very attentive, right from the beginning. I even got to practice my Italian, thank you! Negroni and Aperol spritz were perfectly executed, and the Nebbiolo later was also well-chosen.

As much as I am tempted and would love to leave a one star review full of a bunch of bs like a person who has never been to Italy and expects a plastic Mexican food menu with five thousand options (or maybe a Chinese food one bound in ten year aged fake leather with a string holding it together), just so I can bask in the poignant owner’s rebuttal (let’s be honest this is the only reason I went here to begin with ), only capable by a vero Italiano, this would be a complete disservice to the fantastic authentic Italian food and great service that is Volghera.

Solid spot for a quick happy hour. We were seated quickly (around 4:30 on a Fri) and had to ask for happy hour (aperitivo) menus. For drinks I got an Aperol spritz and my partner got a Menabrea (Italian beer). For food we ordered the Della Casa charcuterie/cheese board. I thought it was a bit pricey ($39) given other nearby spots served similar boards for less, but it was delicious nonetheless. About 4 cheeses, 3 meats, fruits, nuts, and roasted peppers so, in general, a great selection. We also ordered the Parmigiana Reggiano plate from the HH menu cause… why not more cheese! Overall I’m sure that we’ll come back here for another HH outing this summer.

One of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had! You can absolutely tell they truly care about your experience- the service was phenomenal, the food out of this world, and the ambiance is super fun. They went out of their way to make my birthday a very special one. Saluti!

My husband and I have come here to celebrate on multiple occasions and everything we’ve ordered is wonderful. We clean our plates every time. Their charcuterie board is a fantastic appetizer among friends. The staff are always very kind and knowledgeable about the menu and they have great wine pairing recommendations.

One of my favorite restaurants in Denver!! The authenticity and beautiful aesthetic is so singular and such a gem. Been here multiple times and always loved the food and delicious wines and cocktails!! The owner is so warm and welcoming. Next best thing to being in Italy!

Amazing food, wine, and staff! Between the atmosphere, small plates, wine imported from Italy, entrees, and incredibly friendly staff, my partner and I had an amazing experience for date night. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I was excited to try this place for my birthday after reading all the good reviews. Sadly, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths (literally). The food was so oily, we practically took a bath in the grilled artichokes. Then when I commented to the server about it, he said flippantly, “Well you know, these Italians use a ton of oil in everything.” Being Italian myself I was just like umm no, sorry that’s just not good cooking, but you also don’t have to insult a whole culture simultaneously. On to our pasta dishes, my pesto with squid ink pasta was pretty good (except again, oily) but the shrimp were super small and they did not seem very fresh. My husband’s linguine frutti di mare was underwhelming and expensive ($30) for the quality. I have no problem paying that much for a dish that hits the mark, but again, the seafood was not the best quality nor was the pasta (it tasted like store-bought, and was overcooked). For that dish, I typically expect the sauce to be more like a tomato sauce with some spice, this was more like straight marinara. Which could be overlooked if it was good, but it wasn’t. You can get better high-end Italian cuisine elsewhere in Denver for sure. Update: I edited my review to change one word that was placed in error. Like the owner says below, mistakes can happen! That also doesn’t change the fact that the food was not good quality, regardless of the dish preparation. It’s fair that this place could have been having an off night when we went, but if you’ve been in the business for as long as you say, I also think it’s fair to take criticism more graciously.
