Stopped in on a quick pit stop on our trip. Our kids have never had a&w so we decided to let them try it. So we order and the lady taking our order is coughing, no big deal, I assume allergies or something. We get our number and we wait. And wait. And wait. So now I’m watching and witnessing her coughing all over the place. Over and over. And then make ice cream shakes, doing all the front end things. Never washes her hands. Not once. But we are waiting for hot food. And they have explained it will be a wait. Someone went home sick, and they have a new girl starting tomorrow. So, we understand but we are watching how they all work. Drive thru girl stands there, does nothing. The front order taker is taking orders and making all the ice cream type things. And the cook is in the back. Not one single worker can help the other it seems. Drive thru girl stands there explain to us how they are down people and they only have one cook in the back. There are probably 3-4 orders waiting with us. That’s it. We wait and I start realizing we’ve been standing there for 30 mins. So I say something to the order taker gal. She again explains they are down people and there is only one cook, yet no one goes in the back and helps the cook! Insane. Good is sitting in the hot area just sitting there for over 20 mins. But it’s not ours, I don’t know who’s good it was, but nobody wants fries onion rings and burgers that have sat hot for 20 mins. I finally ask again for an update and how much longer. It has now been 40 mins! 40 mins for two burgers, and chicken strip meal. Insane. I’m left with no choice but to ask for a refund. The lady at the front doesn’t know how, so the cook comes out to refund me. Gives me attitude because they are down people and now she has to come out here and refund me. So the order taker goes in the back to attempt to cook while the cook refunds me, but quickly comes right back and says, I can’t do any of that back there. Insane! How do you have people working that can’t jump in and help the others? Weird experience. Nobody wants to wait for over 40 mins for fast food. And nobody wants food that’s sitting in a hot food holder for 20mins. We got our refund and walked right over and got hot food in the gas station that a&w is connected to and got chicken strips and Jo Jo’s for half the price and walked out. I really hope the owner of a&w sees this review. Something has to change there. It’s such a busy truck stop, and the a&w experience was laughable.

As I was driving away from this establishment, I thought to myself, “I know what A&W stands for. Awful & Will never return again.” I got chicken sliders, and they were severely disappointing. The bun was an eerie level of sweet, and the chicken was oversalted. The pickles were the only remotely redeeming part of this experience—a nice, tart and crunchy bite. I suspect that the beyond meat patty was also microwaved instead of grilled, leading to an undercooked center. The whole time I was eating (or forcibly swallowing), I just wished so badly American A&Ws could take a note from Canadian A&Ws. I want to eat my fast food without questioning the quality of the ingredients and without experiencing a vague sense of unease. If you’re driving past and looking for a quick bite to eat, keep driving.

Arrived after our quad riding for late lunch and ordered our food. The food was just ok, yes it is freshly made but on this given day someone was heavy handed with pepper. One of our guests who came with us asked for single patty burger rather then double but they still charged her for double and gave double (even though they said they were going to give single patty). It took a good 10 minutes to get our food (not a big deal as knew it was being made fresh) but we had to wait at least an additional 10 minutes for our drinks, when asked them for our drinks was told they had to help those at the counter first. This caused our food to get cold before we could eat it due to no drinks for awhile. I went to counter and stood and waited for the drinks and the staff at counter wasn’t pleasant about that, however I wanted what we paid for so we could eat and head home.

Came in ordered our food. They didn’t give us one cheeseburger that we paid for. No big deal, We went up and told them about it. The People that ordered after us got all of their food. Went up to ask for it again and they said they were backed up and had to do the people that ordered. Don’t you think you should help the people that you messed up their order? We waited around 15+ minutes to get it. We had also asked for ice cream. We were told that they ran out of ice cream. Again no big deal but Later we saw them filling up cups of ice cream/root beer floats for drive through orders. Worst service ever.

Waited 10 minutes in the drive thru then asked us to move and park. Then waited another 5 minutes for our food. Then we had to ask if we could get our drinks. Probably the worst place I’ve ever been to.
