On the first evening of a recent visit to Ames, I had a chance to try the Pizza Pit. It felt like places I had visited 35 years ago in my high school days. Same sort of furniture, decorations, and music. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the visit got even better when the pizza showed up. Very, very good! I highly recommend this place.

I love Pizza Pit, I’ve been coming here with my family since I can remember. But they need to stop cooking in soybean oil. It’s extremely estrogenic. Look into it please and make the switch back to a healthier oil.

Excellent! Never had a bad experience at Pizza Pit. If you are looking for a consistent product, plus great delivery and service, you cant go wrong with Pizza Pit! I tried the Siriacha Chicken Bites which were crunchy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of heat. I had my usual for Pizza, Sausage, Pepperoni, and Green Olives, 14 inch. The thing that really stands out is the sauce which is rich and tomatoy tasting. All in all very good, thanks Pizza Pit!

Came here from Des Moines just to eat here. Amazing hot sandwiches. Outstanding cheesy bread and dipping sauce. Jalapeno poppers are awesome. A must try for lunch when in the neighborhood or a 30 minute drive from Des Moines. Always a favorite.

There are only a handful of restaurants in Ames that are uniquely Ames and Pizza Pit is one of them. (if you walk into Panera — you could be in Phoenix, Bozeman, Atlanta — who knows and who cares). Pizza Pit is one-of-a-kind with excellent pizza made with quality ingredients, great sandwiches, fair prices, nice folks behind the counter and in the kitchen, and as a bonus, they serve Coke products! Best of all, the dining room is always warm, friendly and lavishly decorated for each holiday (Christmas is the best). Pizza Pit has consistent service, yumminess, and uniqueness – its one of the best things about Ames, Iowa!

A must have when in Ames. Delivery is always accurate, the actual establishment is old fashioned and cute, and the menu is full of perfect comfort food. Personal favorite: inferno wings. Really hot for some, so order with caution. Should be on your list of one of the places you should visit while in Ames.
