This place and brand new and I’ve came twice! The manager is incredibly kind! I’ve witnessed him communicating with his new staff and he is always encouraging and helpful. Opening a new store has to be a lot of work and these people are doing it well! When I ordered a sandwich and it didn’t have all of the ingredients he insisted on making me another even when I was fine. I’ve always loved Tropical Smoothie Cafe so I’m glad it’s in our local community now!

Tropical smoothie is one of my favorite places and I frequent the Ames location when I am in uni. When this store opened I was very excited, but have been disappointed time and time again. (I typically go through the drive-thru so this may just be relevant to that.) On one of my first visits I was given smoothies with no labels, the wrong food, and had three separate people handing me things through the window. I have had my food messed up, not received parts of an order that are supposed to come with menu items, and I have been given the wrong smoothie on multiple occasions. Today I was given a smoothie with banana, which I don’t eat and was not what I ordered. I would like to trust that I will be getting EVERYTHING that is included in the description of what I order and be given the correct items, but every time I have to correct them or ask for something that they forgot. I will keep going, but I just wish there was better coordination with the drive-thru.
