We couldn’t decide which tacqueria to visit in this neighborhood so we went to three to compare tacos al pastor. This place has good tacos, and the best “sides” and the only place with good outdoor seating. Other places had better tacos.

Showed up early and ordered a chorizo breakfast sandwich before four other customers. Was kept waiting until these customers received their large orders over my single sandwich. Finally they asked what I ordered and rushed to make me a egg sandwich which I did not order. I drove from Port Hueneme to the avenue to try this place out only to regret it. If only the women in the back were into their work as much as their gossip they may pay better attention. Not a good first impression. Don’t bother when there are far better choices in town.

Some of the poor reviews had me a little wary, but honestly my experience was nothing but good. I got our order in a very timely manner, everything was correct, the cashier was helpful, and we enjoyed the food (especially the gorditas and fresh tortillas). We live in the area, and will be coming back again!

In all of Ventura CA this has to be one of the best if not the greatest Mexican Restaurant that i have try in all my years. Their homemade tortillas are delicious and sure feels just like home. Menudo has a unique and fabulous taste, tacos de birria, burritos de birria, tostada de ceviche everything feels and tastes so fresh. Definitely a must go once i am in Ventura once again, definitely a recommendation to everyone whose wishes to try some great mexican food.

MacReeves and I had tacos: pastor, carnitas, asada, and birria. While all seemed well prepared none of the meats stood out as particularly exemplary. They lacked seasoning perhaps? Something was missing flavor wise and the two salsas didn’t add much to enliven the blandness.

The BEST breakfast burrito in my life. This quiet little unassuming place is AMAZING!! Their spicy sauce is to die for. Chimichangas are freaking awesome. They come topped with guacamole, onions and cilantro!! Breakfast burritos are an awesome blend of the meat, eggs and potatoes. If you are passing through Ventura and in mood for Mexican food, THIS is the place. Also, they open at 5 AM!!!
