The Thirsty Hound Sports Grill is located in the Highview Area. We are a sports bar that has 13 big tvs, large selection of Bourbons and Whiskeys and other Spirits. We have a Grill that is open All Day long.
We have 2 pool tables, Tabletop Ring Toss Games, 2 Golden Tee Golf machines, and just a GREAT Atmosphere so All are Welcome and should feel this way when you walk in the door.
You will be greeted by Thirsty when you walk in the door, he is our Mascot.

Thirsty Hound is definitely a local watering hole that caters to regulars. There is nothing wrong with that, but it didn’t feel like a place where a random customer, such as myself was wanted. The waitress stood and chit chatted with a group of three nearly the entire time that I was there. I went in there to have late lunch, early dinner and wasn’t wanting to drink alcohol. No problem, except I definitely didn’t fall in order of paying customer and felt ignored at times. My drink was empty more often than not. The food was good for what it is, bar food. I can’t hold grudges on what you see is what you get. Price was fair for what it was as well. This place is probably a lot of fun during the peak hours. I am not hating on Thirsty Hound, just not impressed with the service as a potential new local patron.

Feels like a more welcoming place than I was expecting, and that is a very good thing!! Just a local bar where people are nice to each other. I’ve been there a few times now on weekdays, from 5pm to 10pm. People smile at ALL the people! The pizza is just freaking good! Limited draft choices but that’s just me being picky. They’ve got a couple pool tables. Trivia on Tuesday night was a fun crowd but still had room for more people.

Pizza joint in disguise! It’s a friendly little bar with a handfull of pool tables, a pair of Golden Tee machines and a shuffleboard table. The beer is ice cold and the pizza is outstanding! This is not bar pizza. Actually some of the best pizza I’ve had in Louisville.

The food has always been large portions and great. The employees have always been very friendly. Sadly my husband and I won’t be going here any more. We would go here for dinner after he’d get home most nights. Loved this place. Since their cook they had got injured months ago your lucky to get food any more. We’ve started going other places. It’s sad but it is what it is.

Weeks ago I visited this place for the first time live music and good food it was a great environment. They were a little short-handed that’s the only reason that I didn’t really like it at the time. Because they had one bartender and she was running around busy the whole time because she didn’t have any help. But overall it’s a great place for live music and really good foods.
