I have been sleeping on this gem in Comstock because I live on the other side of town from Comstock. No longer will I let that stop me. This unassuming place provided excellent food, fantastic service, and the chill homey atmosphere. I had chicken mole which is one of my favorite dishes. They got the mole sauce exactly right. I also ordered an al pastor taco and chips and guacamole. The chips are crisp and thin but strong enough to dip up guacamole. The guacamole has big chunks of avocado in it with raw onion and cilantro, very flavorful. The refried beans are exactly as I like them a little chunky, with just enough cheese on them. But the star of the show was that mole sauce. It has a layered, nuanced sweet and spicy flavor. We watched our food being prepared in the kitchen, and it was nice not to see something get yanked out of a freezer. This was a great experience and we’ll come back soon.

We went here for Cinco De mayo celebration. Our first time visiting. E thought we go to an authentic Mexican restaurant. Not a good experience. We got there only one waitress, my husband wanted tea, they had no sugar, just sweetener, there was no shrimp left. We got there for lunch at 11:30, ordered chips and salsa. The salsa was very salty and chips weren’t fresh at all. Won’t be going back. A little pricey as well. We’ve gone to better Mexican restaurants. This is far the worst.

If you’re looking for true authentic Mexican food this is it. Waitress was amazing and right on top of what we needed or wanted. The cook did amazing. The small part of the kitchen we saw walking in was spotless including the floors. Prices were great.

Great food, seats are a tad hard, but I’m really skinny. You also pay $2 for a big bowl of chips and also, so that is not free as in most cases. But the place has a great feel and I’d recommend trying once.

Oh it was so good. Yet another diamond in the rough. It looks rough and sketchy on the outside and was surprised to see the uncovered Furnace/ AC unit in the dining room, but this place uses every square inch of space.

I’m originally from San Diego, where Mexican food has a very great reputation. I was a little sad that I haven’t found a good taco shop out here. HOWEVER, VALENTINA’S IS AMAZING. First bite literally reminds me of back home. This is a hidden gem, DO NOT SLEEP ON THEM! I will definitely be recommending this to everyone that I know and also order here every time I crave Mexican food. Gracias para la comida increible <3

During our first visit to Valentina’s, the food was tasty and fresh! We ordered a vegetarian burrito & vegetarian tacos and they were much better than other Mexican places in town. We have been to Valentine’s several times since and the food we’ve tried has always been delicious. We look forward to returning for something good to eat. They had a full menu including kids meals and two daily specials on the board. They feature Coke products.
