My wife and I came here for lunch and we had the molcajete clásico and I had 2 tacos the food was good but the rice and beans were missing a lot of flavor. The homemade horchata waters were delicious and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. Our overall experience at mi placita was a good one no complaints just the food was ok.

Fantastic food, super fast, very friendly staff, strong and tasty margaritas, excellent house-made hot sauces… This place has got to be in the running for best Mexican in Rockford, certainly the best in the area. Not the prettiest dining space but clean and not cramped, and everything else is too good to care. I’ll be coming back often!

I’ve visited this place a couple of time in the past couple of months and and each time has been a pleasant experience. I always get the same women when I walk in who is super sweet and the food is awesome they give you a lot of meat in our tacos and they really fill you up. This is my favorite place for tacos. 🙂

To start it’s best horchata and sauces I’ve had in town. Enchiladas were wild. The guacamole had a ton of garlic in it, delicious. Even the rice was amazing on it’s own with the tiny bit of corn in it. The wings were out of this world and barely stayed on the bone when you pick them up. Steak tacos were pefect and loaded heavy. Only negative for me was the quesadillas that I think had white American cheese mixed into them. Service was great!

I got a 3-item combo (Tamale, Chile Relleno, and an Enchilada) and a flan. All of these were absolutely fantastic and worth a second visit. HOWEVER!!! The rice that came with everything?? Absolutely phenomenal, astonishingly flavorful, and blew everything else out of the water. I got double rice initially, and even now I’m lamaneting that I should have ordered more rice. I can not emphasize enough how good the rice was here.

Hands down the BEST place for Mexican food. The prices are very good especially with the large portion sizes. The daytime server is Victoria. She is a real gem. My only negative is the atmosphere. It is a pretty baron place. I am sure the modest surroundings is reflected in their lower than average prices. Besides, do you go to a restaurant for the ambiance or the quality of the food?

Terrible. We ordered for pick up and spent $63 to get chimichangas filled with more peppers than chicken, over cooked mushy rice and runny cheese dip. This is the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in this town. We were extremely disappointed and threw most of it away. Do not waste your money.
