Boss Hog Supreme
Excellent service. Fall off the bone ribs, with just the perfect amount of smoke. The Mac & cheese is southern style & the string beans taste like what my mom makes during the holiday. My only issue is the cornbread wasn’t big enough. & When I went they had they were getting ready for closing otherwise I would’ve inquired about the yellow & red bones I saw that they had in there.

This was our first time trying this soul food kitchen so we had some questions for the order taker and she was patient enough. We ordered three dinners – fried chicken, sole, and catfish. The main entrees were cooked to order and had generous portions (3-4 medium to large pieces of fish, two very large pieces of chicken). The dinners came with your choice of two sides (premade) which were smaller portions. Both fish were crispy and quite good. I only tried a bite of the chicken but it seemed tasty too. However, the chicken came smothered in BBQ sauce without asking, fortunately I liked it but be sure to ask if you don’t want it (we also received BBQ sauce on the side???). I really like my side of “fried” cabbage (actually more like braised but very tasty with ham in it). I only had a taste of the collard greens and they were OK but I didn’t think they were as tasty as the cabbage. We also got some rolls and a piece of cornbread with our order. Be sure to check the daily specials on the blackboard as they have items not on the printed menu – on the day we went, there was gumbo, red snapper among others. On Saturdays they apparently have a seafood boil too. The restaurant and kitchen appeared clean. The food is served over the counter takeout style. Overall, I thought it was a good value and satisfying.

I WAS REALLY EXCITED FOR THIS PLACE. I RACED UP THERE FROM PALMDALE ON 3/14/23. I ORDERED THE MEATLOAF, MASHED POTATOES W GRAVY AND MAC IN CHEESE. THE POTATOES WERE BLAND AND HELLA SOUPY! THE MAC N CHEESE WAS AT LEAST TWO DAYS OLD AND THE MEATLOAF FELL APART AS IF IT WERE OLD AND THEY JUST MICROWAVED IT. THIS PLACE AIN’T IT!

I ordered the meat loaf which was a vegetable loaf it had more peas and carrots in it. It reminded me of that loaf they showed on locked up. The potato salad was runny. The turkey chops were cooked to hard. The best thing was the Mac n cheese but it was just ok. Won’t be going back.

Well I’ll just say this! The 2 flat screen t.v., need to either play on the same station or the music needs to be turned down, it is very annoying to say the least! Now let me address the customer service, in a word unexceptionable! I shouldn’t be made to feel like I’m bothering you, you made the choice to work there! No smile, no how are you thanks for choosing our place to dine, please come again, how’s your experience!!!! Not even close… Now the food! It was by choice to order fish and thank goodness I did, it was good, but the sides not so much , there was an overbearing taste of vinegar in the greens and the yams, absolutely not!!! I didn’t even attempt to try anything else that came with the order, also the ribs had way more fat than meat!! So I can only give it a 2, it was clean!!!

I have to be honest, most of the time I never order breaded shrimp. If you go to a place like Red Lobster or anywhere really “breaded” just means “frozen” or “pre packaged”. They almost never have any flavor or anything so I stay away from breaded shrimp at restaurants.
