They were swamped, and another employee came in to help. Good thing we weren’t in a hurry. Took 1 1/2 hrs+. Home fries dry. Sausage biscuit gravy ok altho made from scratch. Nice folks, cozy atmosphere.

This place for me was absolutely perfect. We had to order to go, due to the pandemic. They are limited menu makes it easy for you to make a choice. We went with the chili, and it was a nice surprise to find out there was noodles in it. The chili had a good flavor and a nice bite to it. But I’ll tell you one thing you definitely have to get and that is the double cheeseburger fully dressed. The paper was so soaked through with grease by the time we got home I knew it was going to be the perfect Smashburger. And it did not disappoint, the meat had a little crispness on the end and the inside was completely juicy. Would recommend again and again.

Its actually been a year or so since I’ve been in Metzgers and the last time I went in I was very disappointed. Got the jalepeno poppers as an appetizers and they were cold in the middle. Food took 20 minutes to get to us. I got the pimento grilled cheese and my mom got a burger. My mom said the buns were cold on her burger and my pimento GRILLED cheese was cold in the middle. The only thing good was the beer. Atmosphere was still nice. I really hope to get some better cooks in the kitchen. I used to brag about metzgers to everyone. Now im just disappointed.

Somehow combines pure dive bar with modern additions to the menu and drinks. But the ambiance is just old school bar. Simple but good food. Great drinks. And the Ghost Pepper Bacon jam is amazing. The pickled red onions need to return though. Stop here, learn the history, enjoy the food and music, and the awesome staff.

Atmosphere was still great, but we went during lunch rush with a crowd and the burger was burned into a hard meat disc, I sent it back. I think this place, its food, atmosphere and local folklore is slowly slipping away from the new owners, I hope they can recover. I never send food back ever, but I felt like the kitchen needed some sort of feedback from the customers.
