If you want a classic old school dining experience, this is the place. Enter and step back in time. Friendly staff, good food. Can’t go wrong here. Really enjoyed our burgers with friends. Girl helping out in dining area was friendly and frequently asked if we needed refills on drinks or anything else. Sadly, they may be closing in April 2024, so get here quick so you can enjoy some good food and nostalgia.

My family and myself have been going to burger pit for well over 40 years. It’s sad to see that it’s closing. My wife’s grandmother work there for 40 years as a bookkeeper, so there’s a family attachment to the restaurant it’s always had really good food. Nothing fancy, just comfort food from the past. There are no restaurants in existence like this anymore. In large towns, the doors were closing in April 2023 due to landlord will not renew these and I’m sure the present owner is ready to retire.

Had been driving by this place for years. Finally found a chance to go and was not disappointed. This is a gem from a generation past. Interior decoration kept up the class vibe and the food was way better than expected. It looks like they will be shutting down in a year or so due to their lease. I really hope they can find a way to survive.

12/3/2022. Last of the well known San Jose family burger. Lease ends April 2024. Family established. Reasonable prices, unlimited coffee for future visits with purchase of a Burger Pit coffee mug. They offer steer burger. Popular local support, lines are waiting for them to open.

First time here. Hopefully not the last especially before they close in April of next year.. ribeye sandwich was really good! Chili size was really good too! Damn everything we got was really good. As simple as the things we had there was nothing wrong with any of them! People here were amazing as well. Not just the staff but other customers too.

Awesome burger joint. Nice to go to go somewhere that’s local and not incorporated in Delaware. Lots of history. Sadly they are closing. Landlord will probably knock it down and put in another Starbucks and an expensive burger chain.

The steak was perfectly grilled, very soft and delicious. No salad bar but small salad was given with perfectly grilled buttered bread and fries. The clam chowder was very creamy and tasty. Very friendly environment and staffs. Loved it!
