This restaurant is really good. It was cool being able to choose the food off the conveyer belt. The food was delicious. The shrimp tempura was really good. The crab Rangoon was great. The shrimp fried rice was delicious. For dessert, the mini cheesecakes were awesome. My only complaint is that I never got my fried calamari. But no biggie. I will definitely be back here.

It was my first time trying Kai sushi, the food was average nothing special but decent. I ordered a smoothie about halfway through my meal and they did not deliver it until after I paid the check and was on my way out the door. I took one sip of the smoothie and spit it out it tasted like rancid milk. I re entered the restaurant and very politely asked to swap out the smoothie for a soda. I was very apologetic and I never return food unless it literally inedible. The waitress was understanding and helpful. However she had to ask her manager, the manager was extremely disrespectful to both myself and her own coworkers. She grabbed the full smoothie out of my hand and threw it in a dirty dishes bin being held by a worker, spilling some of it on the floor and the dishwashers had to clean it up. If that wasn’t enough I asked to see a list of the Japanese sodas to try and she sighed loudly rolled her eyes and stomped over to grab a menu for me. She walks back shoves the menu at me and asks what I wanted, then attempted to point out which drink I wanted when the manager pushes the menu into my chest and actually PHYSICALLY SHOVES me out of her way. She walks out of the kitchen with 2 bowls of soups and serves it to a table. The waitress and I were both Standing there in shock and disbelief. Eventually the waitress took my order and apologized. I kept my cool and did not make a scene but I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a restaurant employee, especially after being served sub par food. The food was okay but after the way I was treated I will definitely not be returning, there are plenty of better sushi restaurants in the area with better customer service and atmosphere. Also the restaurant and dishes/silverware were generally unclean and all of the workers seemed to be anxious and over worked likely due to poor management.

A little disappointed. We came here on Mother’s Day. I read the reviews first before coming here. But looks like the plates that used to have 4 rolls now only just 2 and those who have 4 are mostly tiny. For a family of 3 and spend $105 plus tip, we still did not get full, we have to stop before we waste anymore money here. Sushi quality is so so, we had better. The price is a rip off. You might as well go to a EAYC sushi spot to get your money worth and eat fresh made sushi.

Been coming here way before pandemic and it was great. BUT, now I have to take this place off my favorites list. I noticed the decline in quality when I came back after the pandemic. Since then it left a big question mark for me. Since I was in the area I decided to give this place another shot. Thinking maybe last time was just some fluke. But the moment I sat down I knew nothing has changed and it has even gotten worse. There was nothing on the conveyer belt but signs and fortune cookies. They had a couple of rolls that was pretty obvious that nobody wanted and had sat on the belt for hours. The waitress brings over a menu in which I’m even too disappointed to ask if they were even going to restock the belt. I didn’t even eat! I just watched my family ate a couple items they ordered; as I was antsy to leave. They even lied to us about the gratuity. Of all the places I’ve dined at, if I have a party of 5 or more, it was made pretty clear before you walk in about the gratuity charges or it is posted all over there menus. But not this place. When asked, the waitress states its on there website. Which is NOT! I wouldn’t be surprise if it gets added on after this review. Nevertheless, will never come back, and will not recommend.

The spicy salmon color was kryptonite. The only thing that was worth going is the young customer service which was pretty attentive. The food was mediocre but the portion was good. The atmosphere makes the place looks so ghetto.

Good food and great experience. There’s a conveyor belt that runs through out the restaurant carrying different sushi items to choose from. You pick up what you want and can start eating right away. The sushi we had was tasty. I also had the udon and the friend I was with had the ramen. We both really enjoyed what we had. We plan on coming again.

I ordered takeout, and had the tonkatsu ramen with chashu pork, and added mixed vegetables. I also got a bbq pork bun. The ramen broth wasn’t as flavorful as some other local places, but the noodles, veggies and pork were fresh. Overall it tasted good! The bbq pork bun was soft and light, nice amount of filling. I’d say top 10 ramens I’ve had… although I’ve traveled to Tokyo so my opinion is a bit skewed.

I love rotary sushi, and they have quite a nice selection. We came there 2 hours before closing, and we were told that they are stopping putting food on the rotary, so that was a bummer because it took away from the experience. We still got some, but most of the dishes we had to order separate. The food was good, though.

Thought I gave them another chance since last year. But Food quality declined ever since Covid. The rotary is empty…. Only a few was on it and seem like it’s been there since they open. Rice is too sour; used too much vinegar. Sushi was bad; it was cold even though we order tempura sushi; it was hard and seem like it’s sitting out for the whole day if not few days old. There’s no signs stating they automatically charge service tips with party of 5 and more. I asked the waitress where was the sign at and she said it was on their website. If you go to their website it did not say anything about it. So that’s a lied. I understand people make living from tips but you shouldn’t lied to customer like that. Worst sushi place I’ve been to. Guess I’ll just stick to a rotary sushi in Chinatown or Naperville. Will not come back ever. I rather spent that amount of money on McDonald’s. Seriously save your money and go somewhere else for sushi.

Love this place. One of my favorite sushi bars. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is very kind. Very cool concept, a lot to choose from and if they dont have it the chef will make orders on request. Would recommend.
