Hands down the best Mexican food—potentially in all of Tampa Bay. We came to this restaurant starving—not knowing what to expect. Expectations were low to be honest. We’ve been disappointed before. As soon as hit the door the aroma cued to us that this place had potential. Then we got our food and we literally wanted to start speaking in tongues! This food ain’t no play play!! And the diversity in the room was a clear sign that the food was good. Everybody of every hue loves this food. This is our new favorite local spot.

Excellent service and delicious Mexican fair. Arrived on Saturday evening at 5:30 with a party of four. Even though there is no hostess to greet guests, the staff is quick to welcome your arrival and seat your party. Beautifully lit dining room and welcoming bar with Flat screen TV displaying and playing popular Latino music videos. I had the “Steak al Patron” and “El Patron” margarita—fresh, delicious, and refreshing. Our waiter, Luis, and bartender, Lester, are super cute and friendly. Our check was delivered in a small treasure chest—scared me thinking I was going to cover the bill with my life’s fortune—not so. Dinner for four with drinks under $200. Highly recommend this hidden gem in Riverview, Florida.

The food was ok. The tacos suggested were decent. I wasn’t a fan of the shrimp tacos that taste like they had pineapple. I’m Mexican and never tasted shrimp tacos with pineapple. The service was decent. I had a discrepancy with my bill. I was charged with a tip before I even wrote the tip. The waiter said it wasn’t his fault but gave me a drink for the inconvenience. I get text messages of every purchase I do to avoid scams. I was uncomfortable with the extra charge. I did the math and it came out that the top was charged along with my regular bill. If you go I suggest you know some Spanish.

Fun place to go for Mexican food. Choose from authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex. I got the Al Patron Platter. It came with five different authentic tacos served on flour tortillas with cilantro and onions. All the meats were flavorful with the Pastor being my favorite. They also have a nice cocktail selection and music in the evening. Very friendly service

We visited El Patron Friday night for dinner and drinks. We ordered red sangria and a margarita. The drinks were wonderful and not too sweet. Our entrees were good sized portions and the rice was to die for. What did they put in there? The staff was friendly and welcoming and very attentive. The restaurant goes “club mode” around 10:30 pm and has a DJ with some great dance music. What a neat place. We will definitely be back!
