Very friendly manager or owner. Always remembers you. I love coming to this location because it has the best spicy salsa lol. I live in Hobart and will come out to schererville just for this lol. Rice is always flavorful. Great steak tacos. Never chewy. I just don’t know why there’s not much business anymore. We love it here.

We eat at alot of different Pepes in Illinois, and the food tends to change taste and quality from the “Corporate” owned ones…. but not this one. Perfect burrito… especially the Frito and Suizo. Chips and Salsa are perfect too. This Mexican fare here is way better tha any other in St John / Schererville area. Only bad thing i can say is they dont yet serve hard liquor… just beer and Sangria. (But the sangria was awesome too)

I just left this place and I asked the waitress for no sour cream at all on my plate . Then I asked her was the chicken really chicken because it taste like pork.. I’m not a big fan of it … so she then proceeded to get an attitude… when I asked for the manager she became a little hostile. AS A YOUNG BLACK MAN IN AMERICAN I WAS SCARED

This was my first time to this Pepe’s. What a wonderful surprise when I saw Diane. She was my favorite server at a different Pepe’s yrs ago. The food was hot and delicious. Clean restroom. Very pleasant atmosphere. I will definitely be back and hopefully get my favorite server again!

We arrived just after 1 pm. Server welcomed us warmly. We were the only people in the restaurant. Our order arrived timely. correctly and attractively presented. Server checked back several times. Would return.

It was terrible the cooks need to learn how to cut things when I got my steak fajitas the onions we’re basically onion rings filled in and the peppers were huge not even cut then when I get ready I notice in the name it says steak there’s was nearly none and I payed 24 dollars rip off do not recommend

Not sure if its a recent change in staff, but compared to 6 months ago the service and food are now excellent. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for some mexican comfort food and dont want to drop a paycheck on your meal ticket. Chicken burrito suizo dinner for the meal and the picture is of the appetizer Bonita chica. Very tasty selections. If you have room for dessert i recommend the flan. Not many places can make flan actually taste right so dont miss out on this traditional dessert if you can.
