First time, and definitely not the last. Seated quickly with prompt service. I got the BBQ sampler platter, and it had some of the best brisket burnt ends I’ve had away from my own smoker. The Mrs got the heaven and hell chicken, not even really liking risotto, and absolutely loved it. The sauce combination was amazing.

Food well worth the price and super accommodating to dietary needs! Love that they offer specials and especially holiday packages. Kitchen is clean and open. You can see them working hard and taking pride in what they make for you. The steel plate is a family affair and is run by a true chef which is apparent in the taste of the food and the quality! Well worth the drive. Had a family reunion in Sewickley PA., had some free time so myself, wife, uncle, and cousin drove to The Steele Plate for a Saturday afternoon brunch. Definitely worth the trip, food was fantastic, staff on point. Got to spend some time with owners, who took time out of their busy schedule to chat with my family, usually my wife takes plenty of pictures but its hard to do when your mouth is full, and your fork is constantly digging into everyone else’s plate. Next time I’m in PA, The Steel Plate will definitely be on top of my list to visit.

So happy to see a valley restaurant that isn’t just a “valley restaurant.” Holds it own as a restaurant well worth the price point for quality and taste. We loved the oldies music and comfortable atmosphere. The quality of food that is homemade can’t be beat! Ordered the gnocchi which were soft and sauce was delicious! Husband ordered the wing special. Sriracha bourbon sauce and hot honey did not disappoint! But the jerk chicken sauce was phenomenal! Very nice waitress, Tori, and owner was very friendly hospitable. Nice to see a place have specials again too, which showcases their food diversity. Will be back!

Food was amazing! I got the Heaven and Hell chicken parm. The sauce was fantastic, chicken was cooked perfectly, and the risotto cake that it sat on top of was delicious and not dry. Definitely will be back again and hope to score a piece of the strawberry scooter crunch cheesecake next time since they sold out before we got there today.

For the “foodies” among you in the Mon-Valley, this is a restaurant not to miss. Locally owned and operated, the owners are congenial and caring. The food was unexpected flavorful. My wife had ribs with greens and corn bread. The BBQ sauce has a good flavor and the ribs were tender. I had Jamaica Jerk Wings with cabbage and rice. The wings were moist, not at all over cooked, and incredibly tasty, spicy but not so hot as too lose their flavor. Price was moderate and the service exceptional. Well worth the trip to Monessen!
