Surprise place with great food. I had the blackened grouper sandwich it was so tasty. The bun is soft with lot of sesame the fish is perfectly done. Cesar salad was large with anchovies dressing fresh and crispy. Absolutely place to be there more then once

Looking for a place to eat on a Saturday night visiting from Charlotte, we decided to visit the Virginia Highland area. After scoping out a few spots in the area, I chose the Fishmonger.

Worst seafood I’ve had in Atlanta. Oysters had no flavor even with all the random toppings it came with. Caesar salad was also flavorless. It’s gotta be really hard to mess up a Caesar salad but they found a way! Extremely overpriced. You’re better off going to Captain Ds….

2nd time being here. Best damn fish in the city. Everything is made fresh to order. Taste like they kill the fish when you first walk in. I recommend the Grouper sandwich or the Hot fish that you see in my pics. The chowder is phenomenal too. Easy 5 stars here. Not really a sit down place but amazing atmosphere and nice outside seating for a lil date

I’m on the fence with my rating because the food had good flavor but the portion size compared to photos I’ve seen on the reviews for the same meal. They have no options for kids. I’m still hungry. The staff was friendly but we were not informed of an 18% auto gratuity. We had 3 kids and 4 adult. 1 child didn’t even eat. So we ended up giving a 20% tip on top. This isn’t an establishment where you have a true server, so a 38% tip is steep. The atmosphere is decent for its size and it looks well maintained. I personally feel the meals, specifically sandwiches should come with sides. Even if it’s just chips. A plate with a sandwich placed on it isn’t visually appealing or appetizing, it literally felt like something was missing and as I said, I’m still hungry. Although, flavorful, I think if they’re going to keep the same portions, add a side and then charge for upgraded sides. Also, please be upfront with people on hidden charges like large party auto-gratuities. It made me feel like I was taken advantage of. Adding some basic items for the little ones would be nice too. Even if it’s just a shrimp basket.

If I can give this place 10 stars, I would. Ok so inside seating is limited, but the foods will make up for any shortcomings. The ceviche is out of this world. Like everyone else, the grouper sandwich is their signature dish. But don’t forget the Ceasar salad with blackened grouper. Lobster toast is another gotta have. Seafood chowder is full of seafood bites. I’m in seafood heaven, reminds me of San Francisco Bay Area.

WOW! Made to order. Excellent quality. Perfectly seasoned. Beautifully plated. Friendly and helpful staff. Super cute. Great vibe. This little place is unbelievably amazing. We had the blackened grouper sandwich, the peekytoe crab and avocado on sourdough and the shrimp roll which out 10 year old promptly wiped out and said, “next time we come here, I’m getting that again.”

Went for the first time today. Killer food and I will be back. “Grouper” sandwich was blackened catfish (no doubt), but really good along with everything else. $20 for catfish sandwich is steep. Was surprised/disappointed at the fish swap as I know these guys take their food seriously. But, 90%+ people wouldn’t know about this so they can get away with it. Otherwise 5 stars
