Sadly I was greatly disappointed in my meal today. I ordered the fried green beans for $9 as a starter & the Southwest steak sandwich with seasoned fries, for $16 and a tea! Not sure how much that was, but apparently a lot considering my total with $31!!! Yes $31 for one person! So I guess my drink was around $6!! Expensive tea!! While I got my drink quickly, everything else seemed to takes it’s time getting to me! People who came in after me were able to get their orders extremely quick, a group of 6 came in 20 mins after me and was able to get their food before I was!! Hmmm, I wonder, was it my tattoos? My haircut? I was friendly, polite, I smiled. That’s weird! So as far as food, I was expecting to get a crispy grilled bread with juicy steak, but unfortunately what I got was overcooked chewy crunchy pieces of chicken sliced steak, soggy bread, and fries that were dry, and honestly I couldn’t taste the seasoning. Waitress didn’t ask if my order was okay, or ask if she could change anything, when she noticed I didn’t eat but a single bite and even that I had to spit out. But, she did tell me my check would be waiting for me though! While she did her job, she was cold and distant. And I didn’t want to tip her honestly because she didn’t care and her attitude while I checked out was very rude, but she was really polite to the lady behind me who has a To go order!! I haven’t been here since 2019, and the experience was just as bad, but I figured, second chances are given, but seems I was right in my assumption that they are friendly if you look a certain way! For the prices and taste could’ve gotten a better steak sandwich anywhere in bay city and received not only a better experience but been treated like a person as well! As a small business owner, this experience will ensure I treat EVERYONE with the utmost respect no matter the way they look! Do better!

The food was fantastic. However, we went at 12:15 on a Friday and the restaurant was only half full, it took 45 minutes for the food to come out making us late back to work. I will recommend this place but not if you are on a time limit.

This is probably my favorite spot in Bay City. Having lived in the area previously, when we moved back here permanently, we were in search of a smaller, cafe style spot. This was the perfect choice. The interior is very homie, welcoming to all who enter. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food however, I mean it absolutely nails the “from grandma’s kitchen” style it shoots for. The turkey and dressing is some of the best I’ve ever had. The tea is fantastic, really makes it hard to pass up a cup to go! Their Texas sheet cake, while a simple dessert to make, sells faster than you could believe. When I finally got to try it, I could see why. Finally had the opportunity to take my son for breakfast there, and even he loved it! Simple breakfast menu, but absolutely perfect for a quiet, early morning dining experience. Can not recommend this place enough. Their hours make it hard for some to get in, but getting it to go, the food still doesn’t disappoint. Give this wonderful local business a try, you’ll find yourself going back time and time again!
