Recommended to us when a co worker overheard us talking about the best fried chicken in Wilmington. Went for lunch. We each ordered a 3 piece chicken combo, 2 legs & thigh, a side of Mac and cheese and a single piece of catfish. The chicken was sizzling, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The catfish was also crisp and cooked perfectly. But the max and cheese!! Incredible. Served with Texas toast. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, our (sweet tea and lemonade) drinks were never empty. As we were leaving we were told a buffet would be starting next month, Wed-Fri. I will check it out. We left with some menus to put on the bulletin board.

This is not a 4.4-star restaurant. The food was amazing, and everything was fresh. The portions of the food were perfect. The restaurant had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was attentive and exceptional. The owner made us feel at home. This is a 5.0-star restaurant; it is without a doubt the best! #blackexcellence

Wow!! Everything was fantastic! I had the catfish with dirty rice and coleslaw. The fish was lightly breaded to perfection, firm and fresh, the dirty rice full of wonderful flavors, the coleslaw balanced it out. Another member of our group had the pork chops, Mac and cheese and potato salad. Salads House made to perfection, the rub on the chops wonderful! Lastly came the shrimp and cornbread..Yum. brought an excellent southern cook with us who is never quite happy and she LOVED it! And Mona and the staff make you feel welcome. Lastly the prices are extremely reasonable, the portions big. I highly recommend

Definitely a must! Family owned. Friendly service. Food was hot and fresh. Got the sweet n tangy and buffalo 12 piece drummets, the Mac N cheese, and potato salad as well as fries ( I shared ). Also had half n half tea/lemonade.. Everything delicious. Prices fair. Place was clean. Don’t leave Wilmington without supporting this small business.

This fried chicken is AMAZING! This chicken is made fresh when you order. It came to the table hot and crispy. The peppery seasoning on the skin is the best I’ve had. The owner & staff were extremely kind and attentive. The sides were extremely good but honestly my mind was consumed by this chicken.
