The food is really good for a very good price and the portion is very large. The butter chicken is to die for. We ordered vegetable samosa, onion bhajiyas, butter chicken, lamb biryani, mali kofta curry, garlic naan, and mango lassi Everything was so good, but in my opinion, the butter chicken and lamb biryani were a smash hit. The mango lassi was standard and always a good choice of beverage. The onion bhajiyas were so crunchy as well. I usually order this to go, and it’s so good as a leftover. There is very limited seating, and there isn’t as much staff for dining in, so it is slower. Definitely would order out again instead of dining in. I will say the staff and owner are SO KIND and a great man.

Good food but they sent us the wrong thing on Uber eats. Ordered a chicken tikka masala, got send a chana masala? Full of chickpeas, no chicken – definitely not what we ordered. Annoying as the curry they sent was way too spicy for us. Bajis and korma were good though.

Service was quick and the staff were so nice and attentive. The space was also quiet and clean at the time my group went. Ordered the fish curry, chili chicken, tandoori chicken, and the samosas. Everything was hot and delicious and my favorite out of the entrees was the tandoori chicken. Rice came with the curry but we had to order another bowl of rice, which was not an issue.

Biryani was great but the raita that they have given was not good it taste like fish as if fish was kept in it. But you can try their goat biryani. Goat biryani must recommended.

Really great spot for lunch or dinner. The goat biryani has a good amount of meat in it and the rice is really nicely seasoned. The medium spicy level was perfect and wasn’t over spicy. Also tried the chicken biryani on a separate occasion and same good rice but the chicken was a little on the dry side

The food was so flavorful. Everything we order was so so good and the chicken was so tender! I would say everything is reasonably price for the serving size! Also it really worth it to share with friends if you order a ot! Garlic Naan and Butter chicken combo is literally superior! Best combo ever so so good! Also the chicken tikka masala was so delicious aswell!

Atmosphere – they just moved in so it still needs work but looks like it will be awesome when it is complete

Tough place to review. 5/5 for food and lunch special deal. 1/5 for operations and the rude guy working in front. You may come in and pickup a great lunch at a great price with no problem. You may come in and find nobody there and give up to eat somewhere else. You may wait 30 minutes to be rudely rushed through an order on a menu with illegible hand written markup all over it. TBH I’ll still come back though.

Raj is undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant in Long Island City, offering a fantastic dining experience for both lunch and dinner. Their vegetarian biryani is exceptional, featuring a well-balanced blend of cheese and vegetables, complemented by perfectly seasoned rice. The medium spice level strikes just the right balance, providing a pleasant kick without being overwhelmingly spicy.
