First time experience and let me tell you I am definitely coming back again. The food is absolutely delicious. The service was A1 and the atmosphere adds to the joy you will feel as you eat in. Haven’t tried my piece of Carrot Cake yet. I am sure that will be just as good as everything else I have tasted. Definitely try the seafood Mac and cheese.

EDIT: they remodeled in the beginning of 2023 and the new layout makes a lot more sense! The service counter is now closer to the kitchen, and the dining area features a tall, bar-height area running the left wall and a few smaller dining tables.

Edwin is a cool guy!! They allowed me to come in and make my order very close to closing time. The soul vegan food was amazing and the service was impeccable. They were very kind and welcoming into their establishment after a long day of dealing with customers. Please, please support blacked own businesses!!

I’m very new to being semi vegan however I haven’t had fried chicken wings in a min and after reading the reviews I had to try and not just me but my parents (who aren’t vegan at all ) loved there orders. Everything from bac mac and sweet potatoes and kale. My mom wanted fried fish but they ran out. I must say if I didn’t know it wasn’t fried chicken I would not have known the difference. In fact the flavor was the best “chicken” I can recall eating. Absolutely delicious. I also got sweet potato cheesecake OH my!! Everything i had except the spareribs and they were flavorful as well just didn’t remind me of eating a spareribs, more like meatloaf or sausage. Again the flavor was there. The chicken was OUTSTANDING!! Both myself and my parents can’t wait to return as we came fromnYork PA.

My very first trip there was a memorable one and I enjoyed it to the full .As a 2-year vegan, I’ve been looking for vegan fried chicken places and I come across this place because I have tried their chocolate cakes and they’re great .I have tried their ribs and their macaroni and cheese and kale salad is out of this world.

OMG!!!! I have never tasted Vegan food this delicious! I am so happy that I decided to try it. We had fried shrimp, fried chick’n tenders, BBQ ribs, general tso cauliflower, cabbage, collard greens, potato salad, and kale salad. I am in a happy place right now! We will definitely be returning to try the other food on the menu.

My sis in law left a great review as well, but let me tell you from a meat eater perspective since she’s vegan. The food is excellent. I came partially to support her, part curiosity, and part just dam hungry and we both found this as an option. First of all it’s vegan SOUL food. Now if that’s not an oxymoron if I ever heard one. However, it truly did not disappoint.

Purposely looked to patronize black owned vegan spots while visiting Baltimore and found this joint on Happy Cow. This was our 3rd black owned vegan/ soul food restaurant for the day, apparently Baltimore is the home for black vegan restaurants. I ordered the one entree and one side combo and ended up getting the vegan ch-kn drumsticks and potato salad. The drumsticks were by far the star of the dish. I’ve had these drumsticks before but Dodah’s treatment of them is by far the most delicious and memorable. The sweet potato cake was also delicious. The ambiance and decor are awesome. I would’ve taken more pics except that there were other people seated and eating so I didn’t want to snap their pics in the meantime. I loved the green/plant walls. My biggest gripe was with the service. The person who prepped our food and cashed us out wasn’t nice. I felt rushed, so they could get back to updating the chalk board they were writing on when we came in. I also didn’t feel comfortable asking any questions because the one time I did, it felt as if I was an annoyance. Why is service the thing that stands out? Again, I had been to two other Black-owned vegan restaurants already for the day and the service received in both places was great. I felt like the people at the other two restaurants who serviced me wanted me to spend my money with them. The service here at Dodah’s suggested that I had other options other than Dodah’s. So I recommend the ambiance and the food here, but I recommend one of the other vegan soul food restaurants if you value good service with your food.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had, and some of the friendliest people. The mac and cheese is to die for. Love the collards, the potato salad, the pepper steak, and literally everything else.
